Minnia (Mina, Minnie or confirmed as Emilie Dorothea) Raasch was born in Gr. to Johann Friedrich Heinrich Raasch and Emilia Krueger. The family came to the US via Canada in 1866. They lived in Cold Spring, WI before settling in Scott Co. Minnie married Silsby James Kline 8 Aug, 1867 at Merrill Methodist Episcopal Church. He was born in PA in 1858. They had a son Orr born in 1888. They showed up on several censuses in Merrill. Silsby died in Merrill 8 Aug. 1944. The date I have for Minnie's death is 24 Dec. 1942. This came from a researcher who found this information at the church but that was all I was able to obtain. She is not buried by Silsby who is at Merrill Memorial Pk. She was not with him at the time of the 1920 Census when he was at a lumbercamp in Town of Harrison. There is no death certificate for her in the state of WI or CA where Orr moved before 1920. A check of the obituary indexes in Lincoln Co. show nothing. She is not listed in the Cemetery Inscriptions Index for Marathon Co. One wonders if she is buried in a backyard!!!! Other living family members have no information either. Where can I look now? By the way, son Orr would not speak of his parents to his children so they knew nothing about Silsby and Minnie! Any suggestions would be sincerely appreciated! Silsby's father was born in NY and lived in PA where he enlisted in the Civil War and died in Libby Prison as a prisioner of war. His mother Margaret came to WI with her children one of whom was Daniel Kline who has figures in Merrill history. I have researched the lines of all her children's families but information on Minnie seems nonexistant! I believe the Klines from this family are long gone from the area.
