Mrs. Joseph Harwas, 92, 836 Lemke St., a Wausau resident most of her life, died this morning at 12:40 o'clock in a local hospital after a lingering illness. Funeral services will be next Tuesday morning at 8:30 o'clock in the Helke Funeral Home and at 9 o'clock in St. Mary's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Norman Thomas officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. A rosary service will be held Sunday evening at 7:30 o'clock in the funeral home. The body will be in the funeral home from 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon until the time of services and a rosary service will be held there Sunday evening at 7:30 o'clock. Mrs. Harwas, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sommer, was born June 16, 1862, in Germany. She was married here Oct. 24, 1892, to Andrew Harwas, who died in the city Feb. 21, 1936. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Earl Beacham, 1226 Grand Ave.; three sons, Paul Harwas, Boulder Junction, and John and Frank Harwas, 836 Lemke St.; a grandchild, and three great-grandchildren.
