Higgs, 62, Town of Pine River, Lincoln county, died at Holy Cross Hospital in Merrill yesterday afternoon at 5:20 o'clock after two weeks' serious illness. He had been ailing the past nine months. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Taylor Funeral Home in Merrill. The Rev. Raymond Greene, pastor of the Scott Memorial Methodist Church, will officiate and burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park here. The body will be at the funeral home tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock. Mr. Higgs was born Oct. 26, 1892, in New Lisbon and married Edna Hollsted July 9, 1924, in Rhinelander. He was a veteran of World War I and had farmed in Lincoln county the past 19 years. Surviving are the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Robert Craven, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Ronald Muschinske, Town of Texas; his father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Higgs, Merrill; three brothers, Seth Higgs, Town of Pine River, Stephen Higgs, North Richland, Wash., and Wesley Higgs, Rhinelander, and a grandchild.
