Mrs. Anna Behnke, 71, 1121 W. Bridge St., died last evening at 7:20 o'clock in her home after a lingering illness. Funeral services will be next Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in St. Paul's Evangelical Church, with the Rev. W. H. Ortwein officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park. The body, which is in the Ritter & Deutsch Funeral Home, will be taken to the church at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning. The daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Volkman, the deceased was born Oct. 6, 1882, in the Town of Texas. She was married April 20, 1901, in that township to August Behnke, who survives. Upon retiring from their Town of Texas farm seven yeras ago, the couple moved here. Besides the widower, surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Helen Wendorf, 508 Winton St.; three brothers, Martin Volkman, 521 S. Third Ave., William Volkman, Bryant, and Fred Volkman, S. 17th Ave.; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. >From the Wausau Daily Record Herald 9/7/1954 Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Behnke, 71, 1121 W. Bridge St., who died last Thursday, were held this afternoon in St. Paul's Evangelical Church, with the Rev. W. H. Ortwein officiating. Interment was in Restlawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers were Martin and Leonard Behnke, Edward and Clarence Volkman, Gustav Borchardt and Clarence Szuminski, all nephews of the deceased.
