Barnett - Wausau Daily Herald, 4 May 2001. Barney C. BARNETT, 78, died Wednesday, May 3, 2001, at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. Barney was born March 18, 1923, in the town of Reid, to the late Mack and Anne (BERSLING*) Barnett. He married Loretta POCHINSKIMay 25, 1946, at St. Joseph Church, in the town of Franzen. She survives. He drove 30 years of accident-free trucking for Pope Brothers, Malone Wausau Oil Co. and Hanz Trucking. He had a business repairing lawnmowers, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by three sons, Barney (Cheryn) Barnett Jr., Lafayette, Colo., Robert (Linda) Barnett, Weston, Dale (fiancee Cheryl) Barnett, Weston; two daughters, Bonita (Gary) BUCHBERGER, Weston, Brenda (Leonard) VANVUREN, Schofield; three brothers, Mack (Winnie) Barnett Jr., Wausau, William (Henrietta) Barnett, Weston, and Joseph (Lorraine) Barnett, Weston; one sister, Ann YOUNG, Detroit; nine grandchildren, Julie (David) Benzel, Arvada, Colo., Steven (Tara) Barnett, Longmont, Colo., Jason and David Buchberger, Weston, Tammy (Steve) RAINVILLE, Rothschild, Robert Barnett Jr., Aaron Barnett, Clint Barnett, all of Weston, his special granddaughter, Alexandria Barnett, Madison; two step-grandchildren, Erik VanVuren, Chicago, Kurt VanVuren, Wausau; four great-grandchildren, Lilianna BENZEL, Arvada, Colo., Natasha and Tristan Barnett, Weston, and Steven Rainville Jr., Rothschild. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe and Walter, and two sisters, Helen AMBROZIAK and Esther Barnett. Services will be held at noon, Saturday, May 5, 2001, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Weston. The Rev. Robert Strevler will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., today, at Hayden-Buettgen Funeral Home, Schofield, and will continue at 11 a.m. Saturday the church. Burial will be at St. Agnes Parish Cemetery. There will be a rosary service at 7 p.m. Friday. *This should read Ann "Osiecki" not Bersling.
