After further research...and corresponding with Sandy Laessig, wife of artist Robert Laessig, the "real" artist, I am convinced that my cousin Robert was truly talented, however not in the area of painting beautiful scenery as previously credited!!! I do believe his talent was in the area of "story telling"... and fabrication, taking full advantage of his "name" and claiming fame he was not entitled to. However I suspect that his creativity has lead me to connect--perhaps--the real artist's family...being that Robert the artist is a descendant of Ernest... with perhaps his birth family. More on that later if it proves to be true.... (Gosh Cousin Bob, didn't I say it nicely that you are full of BS!!?) Patti
