We have been researching our surname for quite sometime. We are "stuck" regarding ancestors past my husband's great grandfather. We believe, but have not been able to prove, when he came to the U.S. there were at least two brothers already living in Wisconsin. His name was Ferdinand Albert Marth. His wife was Ernestine (Kiekhofer) Marth. They came to this country on a ship called Polaria and were accompanied by Ferdinand's sister, Louise, a maiden lady and their six children: Herman (my husband's grandfather), August, Auguste, Frank, Anna and Albertine. The family settled in Wausau, Wisconsin and lived at 519 10th Street. They attended St. Stephen Lutheran Church. We believe there is a relationship between Ludwig Herman Marth who also lived in Wausau, Wisconsin and Carl Marth who lived in Hamburg, Wisconsin.
