Kathy, "Marathon County, Wisconsin, Cemetery Inscriptions: An Every Name Index" was compiled in 1986. Our library has a copy. I am not aware that the index or any accompanying inscriptions are online. Under the surname BROTHERTON are entries for Alvin, Ella, Lulu, Marion, R.W., Regina, Richard, Robert, Sofia, and Sophia. According to the index, they are all buried in cemetery 104, Colby Memorial cemetery in section 13 of Colby township, Clark County. I presume you're aware that there's a jurisdictional complication here because Colby is literally part in Marathon County, part in Clark County. This complication would certainly influence the search for any official records. Fortunately, this cemetery index also included some inscriptions from adjacent counties. The inscriptions are in bound volumes at Marathon County Public Library in Wausau, WI. I do not know of any other locations where they can be reviewed.
