Dear Listers, We are researching this family, because the wife, Catherine nee KAPPELE/KAPPEL may be a sister of Louise KAPPELE/KAPPEL KAUTZ. For several years now we have been searching for the place of origin in Germany of Louise. Catherine came to this country prior to her marriage in 1855 in Washington County, Wisconsin. In the books, GERMANS TO AMERICA we found a Catherine, who came in 1851, which may be the right lady. Louise supposedly came in 1856 and married Julius KAUTZ in 1859 in Washington County. The Buckmiller family lived in Beaver Dam, Dodge County in 1860, but by 1880 they were living in Wien in Marathon County. Catherine and John were not listed on the 1900 census of Wisconsin.
