I have been building my family tree for about 5-6 yrs. This past weekend, a first cousin, that I haven't seen for almost 25 yrs., visited my mother here in Indiana. Taking along family tree forms, I had her fill out her dads side of the family the best she could. What is interesting, is that she married a William Braatz. Then today, Monday, I receive this email from you, concerning the Braatz name from around 1872! I wonder if we are related? I am going to contact my cousins' son, & see what we can come up with. If you have any further information on Braatz, please contact. I know several years after my cousin married, they for some reason moved to Milwaukee, but all of our family ties are into Marathon County, with towns such as Startford, Colby, & Marshfield. Hope to hear from!

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/2EC.2ACE/2883.4 Message Board Post: I found this story from the Algoma(Kewaunee County) paper. Could this be your Charles Krause? I know it is the wrong county but in my searchs I have found many connections between these counties as well as Door County. Anyway my relatives were the Hilton "boys" Eileen 21 November 1902 Algoma Record John and James Hilton disposed of the Hilton farm located on thee North side of the river this week, Charles Krause being the purchaser. The boys received $5,000 for the bare farm and John retains the privilege of living on the place for a period of one year. The Hilton farm is considered to be one of the best farms in this part of the county and Mr. Krause is to be congratulated on securing so valuable a piece of property.

I am trying to find out when Mary died. I think she may have died in Hales Corners WI. She must have married Tony after 1930, because the 1930 census shows her living with her brother Joseph (my father). Bern township was part of Halsey township prior to 1902. She attended my father's funeral, so she was still alive in 1964. Any clues or info would be appreciated. Joe Novak
