He was married in 1915 to Elizabeth Kohnhorst. She died in 1931. On Sept. 19, 1936, in Schofield, he was married to Adeline Paulman. She died Jan. 20, 1974. Survivors include four sons, William, Glen Burnie, Md., Roger, 810 N. Lamphier An Old Citizen and Very Worthy Man Gone to His Eternal Rest. On Sunday morning, March 15th, 1908, at the hour of four o'clock and seventeen minutes, Orely A Lamphier, one of Wausau's old and highley esteemed citizens, passed away from this life, after a long illness and from a complication or troubles. The sad announcement will be a source of sorrow to the many who were aquainted with this good man, for he was widely known. He was practically a resident of Wausau for fouty years and was ever the same kind, cheerful and considerate man, wherever one happen to meet him. He was always ready to give advise and encouragement to his bretheran and mor substantial aid if neccessary and it was to this disposition to assist and cheer his fellow man that made for him so many warm and lasting friends. Mr. Lamphier was born in Milwaukee on the 24th day of July, 1847 when but a small boy he went with his parent to Poysippi, Waushara county, where they lived on a farm and he remained until a young man. He then put in some time logging on the Wolf River. He came to Wausau in 1868 and being a expert carpenter he entered into this business of builder and contractor which he followed for twenty years. Sfter that he took up millwrighting, exclusivley, and was considered one of the best in the pinery. Many mills were erected under his supervision in Northern Wisconsin. In the South he built mills in Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas and Mississippi, and several were built by him in the state of Washington. He was united in marriage in 1876 to Emma Lawrence of this city and two children were born to them. J. Wesley Lamphier who resides in Chicago, and Mrs. C. P. Abraham, of Spokane Wash., who survived him. Mrs. Lamphier died November 1889. With his children Mr. Lamphier went west to Washington and remained for two years. Returning to Wisconsin hr went to Rhinelander and took charge of the Mill of Geo. Clayton, Later he went to Hazelhurst, where he was with the C. C. Yawkey Lumber Co. for three years. He returned to Wausau to live in 1893 owing to poor health. Mr. Lamphier was again married in October 1892 to Sarah Lillie of this City and to this union two children were born, a son and a daugher, Damen and Iris. His wife and two children are left to mourn his death. In August 1897, Mr. Lamphier joined a party from this city and went to Alaska, where he remained two years prospecting for gold. The trip was a very hard on for him and he returned in poorer health than when he left. While he never regained his health still he was aable to oversee and carry out contracts in millwrighting. In October 1906, he went down to Texas to look after the construction of an addition to a large saw mill, but he was compelled to to retun home last August on account of illness. From that time he had gradually failed. In the early winter he sustained a slight stroke of paralysis. is son, Wesley, came up from Chicago on Thusday evening and was with his father untill death came. His daughter Mrs. Abraham if Spokane, Wash., was with him nearly all through the month of February. The Funeral services took place from the home, 631 Grant street at 2 o'clock this Tuesday afternoon, the Rev. T. B. T. Fisher officiating. Pall bearers were his old friends and neighbors, vix; A. H. Grout, James Young, Thomas Sweeney, J. Tomkins, J. N. Manson, and W. F. Collins. A large concourse of sorrowing friends followed the remains to their last resting place in Pine Grove Cemetery.

Sarah Lillie was born here February 1, 1867, the daughter of the late Daniel and Lena(should be Lura) Lillie, early Wausau settlers. She was married here October 25, 1892 to Orley Lamphier, who died here several years ago. Surviving are a stepson, Wesley (full name John Wesley) Lamphier, Los Angeles; a daughter Mrs. C.F. Munson, Los Angeles, with whom she had made her home; two sisters, Mrs. Whitney and Mrs. F.H. Morman, Los Angeles, and two grand children. Warren Behling officiated, and burial was in Medford Evergreen Cemetery. Mrs. Maier was born May 22, 1881, in Trieste, Austria. She came to Medford in 1905. Survivors include a son, John, Culver, Ind.; three daughters, Miss Julia Maier and Mrs. Eugene Bizer, both of Medford, and Mrs. Ken Aschenbrenner, Lena; one grandchild and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Wausau. The Rev. Gilbert Meyer will officiate, and burial will be in the Town of Berlin Cemetery. Friends may call at Helke East Chapel in Wausau after 3:30 p.m. Thursday, and at the church after 9 a.m. Friday. Mr. Hintz was born Jan. 13, 1897, in the Town of Berlin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hintz. On June 24, 1922, in the Town of Berlin, he was married to Adeline Neitzke, who died in 1954. He was a retired tavern keeper and an Army veteran of World War I. He was a member of American Legion Post 10, and the Marathon County Fish and Game Club. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Corrine Bruehling, 3904 N. Sixth St., and Mrs. Jewell Mary Borchardt, 713 Grant St., both in Wausau, and Mrs. Amaryllis Hintz, Aniwa Route 1; three brothers, Otto, North Sixth Avenue, Wausau, and Edward, Tripoli. NOTE: Only two brothers were listed in the obituary.

Funeral arrangements have not been completed. The deceased was born in Wausau August 6, 1858. His wife passed away in the town of Hewitt Apirl 4, 1927. Surviving are eight children, Stewart Lillie of Chicago, Daniel and Eda Lillie, Mrs Chester LaPorte and Mrs R. C. Walter of Schofield. Howard and Walter Lillie of Wausau and Edward Lillie of Sayner.

Lillie Howard S. Lillie, one of the first settlers of Wausau who came here in 1856 when he was six months old, passed away last night at 7:40 o'clock at the home of a sister Mrs. C. E. Whitney, 816 Manson street, after an illness of three years. He was a timber cruiser and worked for a number of Wausau lumber and logging companies in various parts of the country. The deceased was born in Hawley, Penn., March 2 1856 and was unmarried. He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Sarah Lamphier and Mrs. Fred Morman and Mrs. C. E. Whitney of Wausau; and two brother, George and Ellsworth Lillie of Wausau. His father was Daniel Lillie.
