    1. Time & Place for the Wild Rose Reenactment
    2. Pam Anderson
    3. The 1905 Wild Rose Robbery Reenactment will take place at 10:30 AM at the Jim & Mary Erdman property at the end of River Street in Wild Rose. The land is the last place on the left side of the street and almost across the street from Oakhill Cemetery. There will be signs up the day of the event. Highway 22 is Main Street in Wild Rose. If you are coming in from the South, River Street is a left turn and if you are coming from the North it is a right turn. River Street is all west of Main Street.The land has a rustic appearance and the area where the reenactment will occur is a field so you might not to wear sandals or open toed shoes. You may want to bring a folding chair or lawn chair. Refreshments will be available for sale with the proceeds going to the Wild Rose Library/Community Fund. One of the robbers who is killed in the capture is buried outside of Oakhill Cemetery and there will be balloons showing the way to his grave. Pam Anderson

Perhaps that's why it was written in German. None of my ancestors were German. What year was the German written marriage from from? You have me interested, perhaps I need to return to Wausau. Deb

    3. Hi Florence, I am not 100% sure here, but based on my living in Wisconsin and having done much research in various counties throughout the state, it seems that they all used the same basic format, so here is what I have generally found to be on the marriage certificates, of course things are different in different years and no year was stated and I am not familiar with what year this volume would cover. Generally you will find: {providing all information is filled in} Groom's Name: Groom's Parents Names: Groom's Occupation: Groom's Birth Location: Groom's Current Residence Location: Bride's Name: Bride's Parents Names: Bride's Birth Location: {Some old volumes didn't specify this} Marriage Date: Marriage Location: Witnesses: I hope this helps, if you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail and I will try to help further, Debie Blindauer {Forever chasing those elusive Zimmermann's}

    2. debra resnick
    3. I was at the Marathon County Court House about a month ago to work on marriages and births. The information contained in the books depends on when the marriage took place. I have a marriage from 1876 which contained brides/grooms name and information only about the groom. No parents listed for either. Very limited in 1876. My next marriage was 1881 and it was more detailed. Parents, occupation, residence and where bride and groom were born. By 1888 we have all of the above plus type of marriage, where it took place and the names of witnesses. Most of the earlier marriages are in large ledger type books and are written by hand, not certificates like the modern ones. I hope this helps your search.

She found out that this marriage is recorded in Volume 3, p. 428. Could someone please tell me what information is included in that? Would it designate the number of prior marriages for each? Frances's maiden name was BREY. If it contains more information, I will be happy to send to the Marathon County Courthouse for the record. Thanks. Florence in North Carolina
