Well I'm still searching!! Still looking for a DNA donor no luck yet!! I found a clue I haven't seen before, which by the way was in front of my face. The 1880 census Stonewall, Highland County, Va. shows a Mary D. Johns mother 84 living with my John L. Wilson and Barbara Ervin Wilson. Barbara's mother's name was Deborah Davis Ervin. I have been thinking this was a typing error or another census taker writing blob, since Jones was married in the family in 1870. When I evaluated the time the Jones came into the picture the age didn't match. And of course in the immediate area was lots of Wilsons. Does anyone have any Johns in their lines? Steve I know your line is from this area, Have you run across this in your studies of Wilsons? I've got to go to the library now to find more on the Johns marriage, if possible like when. There was a Polly, a seamstress, age 51 next door to my John Wilson, a blacksmith and could easily have been his mother. I've seen Mary Polly as names more often than any other combination.
