    2. I wouldn't say excommunicated from the family reunion exactly, but I am not sure how I will be treated when I go to it. I can imagine them hiding their cups so I can't get a fingerprint or turning their back to me. I guess CSI and Police Television shows really made an impression. I thought perhaps they maybe hiding something too, but one lady told me about a family member in prison for bootlegging whiskey in 1930's and she raised her brother's twin boys, because he wouldn't and the wife wouldn't. Stuff happens in all families and if I wanted dirt, I'd go about it differently. I knew about the guy in prison I just didn't know what he was in for. I just can't get any further back without genetics. 3. Pat, I guess some people are just afraid of genetics because they don't understand it. Maybe they do equate it with fingerprinting! If I were you, I hope I'd go to that family reunion and hold my head up. I have an idea there will be somebody there who agrees with you. My sister and I can't easily take the genetic route because our lines are a crazy quilt that jumps from male to female and back again just about every generation. I wish it weren't so. One, maybe more, of the people I correspond with uses this tag line, "If you have a family skeleton, make it dance!" Or something like that. I'm fond of family skeletons. They make life interesting!
