Obituary published in the Amarillo Globe-News, June 13, 2003 BILLY MERLE WILSON, 69, of Amarillo [Potter Co., Texas] died Tuesday, June 10, 2003. Services will be at 10 a.m. today [June 13, 2003] in First United Methodist Church in Roby [Texas]. Burial will be in Roby by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Wilson married Dorothy on Aug. 25, 1951. He was a Methodist preacher for 25 years. Mr. Wilson loved working with children and will be missed by many. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Essie Mae and Cosese Palmer; and a brother, Elco Wilson. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Ginger Born of Guymon, Okla., and Angie Wilson and partner, Sarah, of England; two sons, Troy Wilson and wife, Connie, of Amarillo, and Jack Wilson and wife, Pam, of Wichita Falls; seven grandsons; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Ella Rae Carmichael of Dora, N.M.; and a brother, Tommy Wilson of Sylvester. The family suggests memorials be to Camp New Dawn, in care of First United Methodist Church of Roby.
