    1. [WILSON-L] Wilsons of WVA
    2. David G. Miller
    3. Hi Guys, I don't know if I can help or not, but I appear to have information on Your Stephen Ruddle and Mary Bird. Their daughter, Ann married Col. Benjamin Wilson, 4 Sep. 1770 in VA. Benjamin's parents were William Wilson and Elizabeth Blackburn (both of Ireland. William's father was David Wilson who married a White. This is not my line. I have gathered other peoples work to try to find a relationship. Below are my comments about a possible relationship to my Perry Wilson (married 1804 in Fayette Co., KY). Maybe someone will see names that ring a bell with them. This family is very interesting to my Perry Wilson research because there is much evidence supporting a relationship. EVIDENCE SUPPORTING A RELATIONSHIP TO PERRY WILSON - 1. David Wilson, father of William, married a White and Perry bought land from a White when he moved to Cedarville, Greene Co., OH. 2. William had a son, David, who was born in 1751. This is about the time Perry's father would have been born (may have been named David) (Perry had a son named David). 3. David Wilson, son of William, married a Miller. 4. Perry had a daughter that married a Miller. 4. William had a son James Harvey Wilson that died in Palestine, Crawford Co., IL. Perry's grandchildren moved from Greene Co., OH to Palestine, IL 5. William Wilson lived in Frederick Co., VA. Perry's daughter, Elizabeth, married Alfred Booth who was born in Berkeley Co., VA Berkeley was carved out of Frederick Co. in 1772. Alfred's great-aunt, Hannah Booth, married a William Wilson in Berkeley Co., VA in about 1792 and descendants of those Wilsons subsequently moved to Greene Co., OH, probably near Cedarville. 6. Perry's daughter, Sarah Jane Wilson married Benjamin Manor. His mother was a sister of Hanna Booth who married a William Wilson from Berkeley Co., VA. 7. Sarah Wilson (William, William) married Daniel Booth. 8. William Friend Wilson (William, William) married Jane Booth. 9. Archibald B. Wilson (William, Benjamin) married Edith Davisson. Perry's daughter, Elizabeth married Alfred Booth. His mother was Ann Davidson/Davisson. 10. William B. Wilson (William, Benjamin) married Elizabeth Davisson. 11. Two of William's children married Stephen Ruddell's children. Another sibling of Stephen Ruddell, built Ruddell's Fort in Harrison Co., KY . DISPROVING INFORMATION - 1. David Wilson, son of William, did not name his children with similar names to Perry's children. 2. David Wilson, son of William, had 11 children. I know the names of 9 of them and neither Perry nor Mary Ann are among them. 3. David Wilson, son of William, lived in Licking Co. OH. There is no evidence he ever moved to KY. If anyone has any information on my Perry Wilson or possible connections, please contact me. I will be glad to send a GedCom of this Wilson line, with sources to the original author, to anyone requesting it. David G.
