    3. Published in the Houston Chronicle from 6/26/2003 - 6/27/2003. James Barry Wilson Our beloved JAMES BARRY WILSON, age 50, passed away Sunday June 22, 2003 at Canyon Lake, Texas. He was born in San Antonio, graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and attended 2 years at Texas A&M College in College Station. Embarking on a career in the oil industry at the age of 23, he joined Sonat Offshore as a Driller for 14 years, then as Toolpusher-Driller, Assistant Superintendent and later as Offshore Installation Manager for R&B Falcon, now Transocean. His last hitch' was in Ghana, West Africa on the Deepwater Discovery. Over his 27-year career, he traveled to distant lands and foreign ports that many of us only wish we could see. His parents, Helen Louise and Harry A. Wilson; mother-in-law, Catherine T. Potter; father-in-law, Dr. Jack W. Potter; and nephew, Colby Potter preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Catherine Jeanne Potter; sister, Bonnie Belle Parent and her husband, Dr. Richard Parent of Mesquite, and their sons, Richard Parent of Pittsburgh, PA, Robert Parent and his wife, Melinda of Houston, and Ross Parent of Colony, TX; step mother, Patricia Wilson of San Antonio; step sister, Pati Steves of San Antonio; step brother, William Hasbrook and wife, Lisa, and their children Andrew and Kelsey of Atlanta, GA; mother-in-law, Ruth Ann Potter of Hughes Springs, TX; sister in law, Beverly Miller and her husband, Steven from Lodi, CA, and their children, Leah Miller from Lodi, CA and Heather Miller from Stockton, CA; brother in law, Jack Potter and his wife, Rhonda from Helotes, and their children, Torrey, Tiffany, Josh, and Donny; sister in law, Patricia Sullivan and her husband, Roger of Pipe Creek; twin sisters-in-law, Constance Potter and Marcia Elliott and her husband, Jim all of Pipe Creek, and their son Bradley. He was known around the world as a warm, endearing person with infectious wit. His passions were his wife, Jeanne, jet skiing, world travel and great music. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Porter Loring Mortuary North. SERVICE THURSDAY, 9:30 A.M. PORTER LORING NORTH CHAPEL With Rev. Bobby Leggett officiating. Interment will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Bulverde. Pallbearers: Harold Smasal, Steve Baird, Mike Honstein, Bob Allen, Rob Horton, Jim Elliott. Honorary Pallbearer: Jack H. Potter. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association South Central Texas Chapter and the Cancer Therapy & Research Center, San Antonio Texas.
