I'm not answering your question but raising another, sorry. Does this line, to your knowledge, have any connection to "Big Tom" Wilson, born in Yancey Co., NC in 1835? (See "Smoky Mountain News," 5/22/02.) My ancestress Malinda Wilson (m. David Alexander Welch) is thought to be related to Big Tom's line. We suspect a Cherokee connection, also. Malinda was born c.1810, so she was not Big Tom's daughter. Possibly an aunt or cousin.
