    1. Wilsons of Newberry, SC; Marshall Co., TN; and Winston Co., MS
    2. After years and years of searching, I have finally identified my gggrandfather THOMAS PRATT WILSON's parents as FRANCIS and MARGARET WILSON of 1850 Newberry Co., SC. They are listed as "Poorhouse Keepers" in the 1850 Census. Their children were listed as Jane E., Margaret A., Thomas, Mary P., and Sarah F. Dena, Linda, and Eleanor have helped me trace them to Winston Co. MS, by 1860. Thomas had already taught school in Marshall County, Tennessee, and had married Rebecca Leah Dysart and had Baby Margaret Alice by then. He later had my ggrandfather, Samuel Andrew Stirling Wilson and Mary Thom Wilson before dying in the War for Southern Independence of smallpox. I have at least three questions if anyone can please help me: 1. Does anyone know anything about the parents, grandparents, national origin, etc. of this Francis Wilson, the Poorhouse Keeper, of Newberry County, SC? In what part of the county did he live? 2. I know Francis' wife's name was Margaret, but can anyone positively identify her with the Fleming family? Someone told me that her sister married Thomas Montgomery of Marshall County (Palmetto Community), formerly of Newberry County, SC. 3. Can anyone identify this family of Wilsons and possibly Montgomerys and Flemings to a Dianna(h) Wilson. She married (1) John Montgomery, a schoolteacher, and (2) a Mr. Titus or possibly North. There's a family tradition that she may have been an Indian princess. I will forever be indebted to anyone who can help me. Contact me at [email protected]_ (mailto:[email protected]) . Many thanks in advance. Sincerely, William R. (Bill) Massey of Lewisburg/Marshall Co., TN
