    3. Hi Karol, As far as I know I'm almost possitive that my GW Wilson was born in KY by all the info. Wish I could help you, I hate brick walls. We may be connected but I can't make the connection right now. I just found my Wilson's in KY recently, thanks to many helpful people. Good Luck, and I will put your email in my Wilson file, for later. 3. Karol, Do you happen to know James middle name or his birth date. My brickwall is James Armstrong Wilson, b. 1814 in IN. As the story goes he was in the Merchant Marine and came down MS River, got off the boat, and was walking back home through the state of MS when he met my GGGrandmother, Sarah Jane Hubbard. He went to work on her father's farm, and settled in Lawrence County, MS. He is my GGGrandfather and that is all the information we have. We don't even know what area of IN. 3. Diane, Not to muddy the waters here, but are you sure he came down the Mississippi? I ask because it was common back then to travel down the Ohio River. Folks who originated in the Pennsylvania, Ohio or any points east used the Ohio. In the 1850's my mother in law's grandfather was a light keeper on the Ohio River. Back then his landing site "Walker's Point" ( this was the family owned site of my mother in law's grandfather) in Hanover, Indiana was a common and popular point to land. It is right near Louisville, Kentucky so it was a good spot for those who wanted to travel west thru Indiana or south into Kentucky or beyond. There were in 1850 several Wilson families in the Jefferson Co., Indiana area. I don't know if they are in any way connected but I thought I would pass this information on. You can go to: www.myindianahome.com and can search to see if you Ananias Wilson might have been in the area or even if any of the other Wilson's are connected to you. They are not of my line but both of my in law's families have extensive connections dating back to the 1840 not to mention they grew up there. No sorry they do not have any Wilson blood, only me.
