Hello All, I'm back to thinking that Samuel Wilson that married Ann Siron is my G-G-G-grandfather. These are my facts that I point to. (1) From an early Wilson Bible, Samuel Wilson's parents were James Wilson and ELIZABETH Hempenstall. Among his siblings is his older brother Isaac Wilson, who married Mary McCoboy (McCovoy). (2) Now look at the 1840 Lewis Co. census. There is a Samuel P. Wilson there, living 3 houses away from Isaac Wilson. As a control, I also follow James Curry, 11 houses from Samuel, and James Blagg, 14 houses away from Samuel. There are also Siron's living near by. (3) In1850 Lewis Co., Samuel is living in house # 1190 (by order taken). We know which Sam this is by the family names. Isaac is in house # 1180, wife Mary, 15 year old son Eli. Control James Curry is in house # 1184, and Valentine Siron is house #1187. So we know that Samuel is still living in the same place. And James Blagg. (4) Now 1860 Upshur Co. Remember that these people did not move to Upshur Co. They were in the part of Lewis Co. that became Upshur Co. in 1851. Again, by family names. Samuel is house #1056. Gideon Wilson house # 1057. John W. Wilson in house #1058. Valentine Siron is living at house # 1091. My G-G-grandfather James S. Wilson is living in house # 1088. James Curry's wife and kids are living in house #1038. I don't find Isaac. No Mary or Eli. And that James Blagg is also here in Upshur. The Wilson's in Upshur 1860 are Samuel's sons. No trace of Isaac's family. Oh yes, my James S. is there. So we know that Samuel Wilson that married Ann Siron, and later Esther Blagg, is Samuel P. Wilson. We know that Isaac and family are gone from Lewis and Upshur counties. But my James S. stays behind with Samuel, John W., and Gideon Wilson. We know that my James S. joins the 133rd with John W. and Gideon. Now go back to the 1840 Lewis Co. census and compare it to the 1850 census. My James S. would have been born about 1825, making him the 15 under 20 with Samuel in 1840. James S. is married to Ann Ferrell by 1850. What needs to explained to me by some people is why would Samuel have a son with him that was born about 1825 when he did not marry Ann Siron until 1827? I think I'm right when I say he was married before Ann. Where was Samuel in 1825? I think this is the proof that Samuel is James' father. James S. is Samuel's oldest son, named for Samuel's father James.
