    3. Anyone can add a record to find a grave. Every time I run across a person who I KNOW where was buried, I go to find-a-grave and be sure the info is there. Doesn't always help me, but may help someone else down the road. Neil: Have a Great-grandfather who was in PA for a while working in the mines. He didn't stay and he wasn't a Wilson. Sorry I can't be of any help. However, do you have the access to check Ancestry.com? If not, I do and would be happy to see if anything is there on your relative. Technically it isn't a genealogy site but with 118 million records it's a great resource with lots of helpful volunteers. I've found lots of burial records for my Wilson's in PA, ID and OK.   Dennis Wilson ________________________________ From: Neil Johnson <highlander@supernet.com> To: "WILSON-L@rootsweb.com" <WILSON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, February 21, 2014 10:19 AM Subject: [WILSON] locating kin One site I use a lot is www.findagrave.com  A great place for finding graves and sometimes more - obituaries, etc Neil ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to WILSON-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to WILSON-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

    3. Find A Grave records can be linked from parent to child. You can create a family tree that can be easily followed from generation to generation - in both directions . Linking is easy if you create the records yourself . If someone else created the record you may have to contact the person and request the linkage. Some will even transfer management to you. 3. Find-a-grave is a great website. My ONLY complaint - there are so many records that if a blank search is done, chances are you won't come up with a match. You really need to have some idea of where you are looking. If you can at least narrow it down to a county, time consuming, but you can check each cemetery in the area of the country you think applies and find the person you are looking for. IF!!! That burial is listed on find-a-grave. Like any other part of genealogy research - there are always if's and maybe's. I think it's one of the better websites. Kudo's to whoever designed and maintains it, especially with the millions of entries.
