Still unable to make some connections in my Wilson-Woodall lines; I’ve been trying for over 10 years. My William Wilson and family were in Walker County GA for the 1850 census. William and the few remaining children still at home were in DeKalb County AL for the 1860 census. They are listed as being in HH# 273-280 in Division 2, Post Office Lebanon. Census recorded on July 4, 1860. Married daughter, Mary M Wilson Woodall and husband, Andrew Woodall are also in DeKalb County AL in 1860. They are shown living in HH# 418-430 in Division 2, Post Office, Lebanon. Shown are: Andrew, age 22, Mary M, age 22, John A, age 6 (1854) and Abraham, age 4 (1856)My question is: looking at HH# numbers, about how far apart would they have lived from each other? In 1870, William Wilson was living with married daughter, Minerva J Wilson Windrix and David Windrix, in Scottsboro, Jackson Co, AL. Also, in 1870, the last child, son, Abe/Abraham Wilson, was living in Morgan Co, AL with his sister, the above Mary M Wilson Woodall. But, Andrew Woodall and the 2 young sons, John A (1855) and Abraham (1857) are not with her. The only family that comes close is an Andrew Woodall (born ca 1834) living in Hardin Co, KY with a Lina/Melina, age 22 and 2 young sons, John A, age 15 (1855) and Abraham, age 13 (1857.) Are these the same people? I can’t find Andrew Woodall at all after 1870. I’ve been looking for over 10 years. I really need help putting these people in the right families. Any and all help appreciated; willing to share. Paula Sent from my iPad PAULA DUNKLIN
Paula: Try find a grave.com, there is alot information on the website by the family of the person buried because a lot of people are not a member of ancestry.com, but can put lineage on their families grave site. Hi, Pat. Thanks for the suggestion; however, I’ve looked at many on FIND A GRAVE but have only found some of those I had already identified. I’m just hoping that some Wilsons on the list might recognize some of the associated surnames and locations that I have connected to some in my line. Some are: WOODALL; NESMTH; COSBY/CROSBY; WENRICK/WENRICH /WINDRIX; CLEMMONS/CLEMENTS, etc. So many were girls and not knowing married names really makes it difficult. I have found many William Wilson trees online that contain my family yet has so much incorrect data. I’m just hoping that someone will look into their tree and see if there is any possibility that my William might be someone missing from their SC/GA/AL line. Thanks again for the help. I appreciate all help/suggestions. I have found putting in just William Wilson, it is hard to find my exact line, but putting in a name related to him, a brother with a unusual name like Squire or Paxton, then my Wilson or Willson will come up. Good luck, I wish I could help you and I know you have put forth all effort to locate him. I actually love to help people, as people have assisted me in the past. I will save the information below and try, as I live in Alabama, which sometimes local libraries have more information.
