DNA suggests my line of Wilsons were of Scotch-Irish blood. Assuming my line did leave for America ca early 1700’s/1800’s, how or where would they have most likely entered? After arriving, if first probably found in NC/SC area, what route would they have used to arrive in Walker County GA? My first known Wilson was my gg gfather, William Wilson & wife, Sarah, maiden unknown. Found on 1850 West Armunchee, Walker Co, GA census along with 9 children. There are also Wilsons living in EAST Armunchee, Walker Co, GA. Can anyone fill me in on the 1850’s (town ?) of Armunchee? Would the Wilsons living in both areas have lived close to each other? Sometime after 1850, my line moved to DeKalb. Co AL, as the 1860 census shows. A daughter, Sarah E Wilson Cosby, was later found in Chattooga Co GA and Minerva Jane Wilson Windrix/Wenrich was in Jackson County AL in 1870. Also in her home was her father, William. He is not shown anywhere in 1880. A 10 year old female, Josephine Chambers/Chalmers? is also in Minerva’s Home in 1870. My great gfather, Abram/Abraham, was in Morgan Co, AL in the home of Mary Woodall, for the 1870 census. Have determined that Mary was Abe’s sister. Believe that Mary Wilson Woodall was the wife of Andrew Woodall, also from GA. Anyone on the list have SC or NC Wilsons living in this general vicinity in the 1800’s? If so, any data on how they arrived in GA? Sent from my iPad PAULA DUNKLIN
