Having a great deal of difficulty finding info on the above Jerry M Wilson after 1860. His name is shown as Jerry M Wilson, born ca 1845 GA to William Wilson and Sarah. Sarah was probably a 2nd wife. They were in West Amunchee, Walker Co GA for the 1850 census. Children of William and Sarah Wilson on that census were: Benjamin W E ca 1829 SCMary M ca 1837 SCAbbby L (Abigail?) ca 1838 SCMartha A ca 1839 SCJames ca 1841 SCSuzy C (Susan?) ca 1843 GAJerry M ca 1845 GAMinerva J ca 1847 GASarah E. ca 1849 GA They were in Lebanon, DeKalb Co AL for the 1860 census. Sarah is apparently dead by this time and several of the children from 1850 have departed for parts unknown. Jerry is still at home with his father and sisters, Martha A; Susan C; Minerva Jane; Sarah Elizabeth and brother Abraham. So far, I have been able to find some info on Mary M; Minerva Jane and Sarah Elizabeth but nothing on the others. I've always found that locating the male members of a family to be easier, but not this time! I have been unable to find ANYTHING on these men. Probably due to the Civil War. Could Jerry M be a nickname? Is Jerry often a nickname for James or maybe Jerome? There is already an older brother named James so I doubt William Wilson named 2 sons James and called one Jerry. Trying to find any or all of these Wilsons but might as well be looking for a needle in a haystack. Thoughts anyone? Paula
How about a nickname for Gerald is Jerry or Jeri or Geri or Gerry. Census takers spelled as well as they could.I have a relative named Geraldine and called Gerry for short.
