Hi Clara, I haven't come across any connection to a James Wilson ( 1779-1800) from Ireland to my husband's line. James Wilsone, ( Scotland) settled in Calvert Co. Maryland and the family ( direct line) was there for 3 generations, then to Monongalia Co. Virginia, ( early 1800th), then Tippecanoe Co. & Hamilton Co. Indiana ( 1830-1850) Mahaska Co Iowa 1856 -?( sometime before their 1870 move to Oregon, Jackson Co, then Polk and finally Marion Co. The last direct Wilson ( my husbands grandmother died in Salem, Marion Co. in 1958.) This is only the direct line... I'll check to see if any siblings settled in North Carolina or Tennessee, and if so will get back to you. Maryland, then on to Mecklenburg, N.C. and from there eventually to Carroll Co. TN. There are so many James Wilsons, but I would love to hear if you have traced yours to the U.S. I look forward to your response. Let's keep in touch. Take care & God Bless! Clara Wilson/Thompson St. Charles, MO -----------------------------------------From: "Joanne Mack via" To: "WILSON mailing list" Cc: Sent: Mon, 16 Mar 2015 17:28:45 -0700 Subject: [WILSON] Who were the parents of Margaret Kidd, wife of James Wilson ( 1618-1672) My husband's 7th GG-grandfather was James Cunningham Wilson, born 1618 Scotland- died 1672, Calvert Co. Maryland. He married( supposedly) abt. 1660 Margaret Kidd..unfortunately there is a Margaret Kidd born 1628 & one born 1645, both listed in various places as his wife. The Margaret (1628) parents are listed as William Kidd born 1622 ( not possible as he would be 6 years old) and Margaret Deare. They are also listed as the parents of Margaret ( 1645) which is possible. To add more flies to the ointment, Margaret P. Gott is also listed as James wife. Does any one have any documented proof as to who is the correct wife? I've tried each backward and forward and still can't make any sense of it. Any information greatly appreciated.
