    3. Hi Bobbie. Unfortunately we are not Wilson direct. I just had my brother DNA tested but our line is broken by women. We did the 37 marker test. Other than that........ I know nothing about DNA testing really. What location did your Wilson line come from in the US? -----Original Message----- From: wilson-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:wilson-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Roberta Hall via Sent: Saturday, March 21, 2015 10:13 AM To: 'Janean Ray'; wilson@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [WILSON] [Bulk] Re: Roberta - Wilsons in Kentucky & Illinois Hi Janean, Yes we have been in contact in the past....our paths keep crossing which makes one wonder if somewhere there is a connection....just wish I knew how to make to leap... As I said I still have one branch of my Wilson line which has a male descendant....he is also interested in genealogy and has a tree on Ancestry.com... of course all the information he has on his tree he got from me and then posted it under his name (I did not give him permission, but oh well) I talked to him several times about doing the y-dna test over the last 2 years...he tells me he is interested but has yet to do it...he is a doctor (chiropractor/ physical therapist type) so I know he knows the + and -'s of taking the test.... I don't feel like I can push him anymore. He is the only one in the family (male) who would possibly take the test, while the others.. well I won't share what they think :-/ My dad's mother is the Wilson so I did have his sample tested at the mt as well as the Family Finder (FTDNA) or for those at ancestry the autosomual test his results are on gedmatch as well as mine... So if you know of anyone in your family who has been tested maybe by the backdoor we could figure out if they are a match. What I mean by backdoor is thru the mt or family finder results. Any other suggestions would be great as I know the best thing for my research would be for my cousin to take the test. My Wilson line ( I believe ) came out of Chester Co. PA mid 1770's era, and then possibly down into Frederick Co. MD but that is a wild guess on that. (my 4th ggparents have unusual connection to MD) Anyway, my Wilson line then came through various areas (depending on the kid) through Berkeley and Jefferson Co. WV./VA into Prince William and Loudoun Co. Virginia before moving on to Union Co. KY and White Co. IL The names are John, William, Jacob (brothers) unknown parents but possibilities are John for the father. William and Jacob married KING sisters out of Berkeley Co. whose family was also the BLUE family in Union Co. KY....... and John married a CHINN from the BALL line in Lancaster Co VA Many a researcher has been blocked at the 3 brothers with no much to go on for the parents. My lines were in KY and IL around 1850's and married into the Rice, Crebs, Blue, Berry, Dagley, Chapline/Chaplain - Anderson, and Davidson (Judge William H. Wilson IL Sup Ct. Justice) Shelby family in IN Another Wilson family in Richland Co. Jasper Co. Cumberland Co. IL for John Marshall Wilson Richland Co. So far I haven't come across any in his line that settled in Kentucky, or Illinois....but if I do I'll certainly get back to you Yes SOOOOO many Wilsons & so little time. I have traced my line back to 1836 but as you said there are so many Wilson lines that I can't connect my EKA born 1793 to a location...I have his son born possibly in Kentucky abt. 1819. Nothing earlier. Pretty well documented from 1836 to present. I have one Wilson cousin left from my grandmother's paternal line who can take the test be is still in the thinking phase (been 2 years). Would love to know where my ancestry lies. Maryland, then on to Mecklenburg, N.C. and from there eventually to Carroll Co. TN. There are so many James Wilsons, but I would love to hear if you have traced yours to the U.S. I look forward to your response. Let's keep in touch. Take care & God Bless! Maryland. He married( supposedly) abt. 1660 Margaret Kidd..unfortunately there is a Margaret Kidd born 1628 & one born 1645, both listed in various places as his wife. The Margaret (1628) parents are listed as William Kidd born 1622 ( not possible as he would be 6 years old) and Margaret Deare. They are also listed as the parents of Margaret ( 1645) which is possible. To add more flies to the ointment, Margaret P. Gott is also listed as James wife. Does any one have any documented proof as to who is the correct wife? I've tried each backward and forward and still can't make any sense of it. Any information greatly appreciated.
