Hi All New to this List but a WILSON tried and true. Researching the descendants and forbears of Andrew WILSON and Margaret COLSTON who left Dalkeith, Scotland for Victoria, Australia in 1854. They brought their teenage/young adult family with them. Andrew was born in Tranent, East Lothian in 1804, the son of John WILSON and Margaret PURVES. One of the mysteries is Isabella WILSON, their granddaughter. They brought her with them aged 5 and she named them as her parents on her marriage certificate. We presume she was the illegitimate daughter of their daughter Isabella who either died or met a guy who didn't want someone else's child tagging along. She married Francis MILLER in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia in 1874. He was from New York, the son of Hans MILLER, a boardinghouse keeper. After that - no trace! I presumed he took her back to America but no sign on the 1880 Census. Maybe New Zealand? Too many Isabella MILLERs to even contemplate buying the certificates. Back to Scotland? A possibility!
