I want to keep your message for several reasons. 1. I have traced our line back to John D. Wilson born about 1795 in South Carolina married Mary born in Virginia > William N or M Wilson born about 1821 married Janurary 1861, Melissa C. Richardson in Coosa County, Alabama (William had apparently been married before, since there is a 11 year old son with the same name William M. and both son and father were living with John D. Wilson 1860 census. At that time William is 39 and Melissa is 13 years old. In this same census there is Martha E Sexton, her husband and 2 children born in Tennessee, which according to birth dates Martha E could be the sister of William M. This also ties them to Tennessee. > Myrtle Wilson born about 1838 > Rhetta Florence Hamilton > Florence Estelle Johnson > Michael Stuart Killian. 2. There has been Indian heritage rumors passed down each generation, from where we don't know. 3. John purchased 160 acres in 1830 in Coosa County, Alabama. I haven't asked for a land purchase agreement from the land development, because I understand there isn't much genealogical information there unless it was a military land grant. 4. There is another bit of information passed down, that family came up from Florida and stayed with them. It hasn't been determined what family, but has been suggested that it was the Wilson side. In time we may be able to connect our lines. I haven't able to determine where in Tennessee they could have been from or from where in South Carolina. This Wilson line is from my husbands Mike Killian's side. I take every opportunity to put a plug in for my line: I am a descendant of Virginia Marie Morrison, d/o Elva Permelia Wilson, d/o John Melton Wilson born 1874 Highland County, Va. or Pendleton County, WV, s/o John W. Wilson born about 1842 in Highland County, VA. married Janie Jones, s/o of John L. Wilson born about 1819 in Lewis County, WV, married Barbara Erwin. I wish we could establish the L was Ludson. It took me awhile to determine and feel safe that it was an L and not an S. Any ideas are welcomed. I saw your post and will take it with me when I go to Blount County Tn., here in the next few weeks to do research on my Thompson and Wilson's. I just yesterday got a copy of my great grandfather Alexander Huston Wilson's death certificate and it lists his parents as Michal and Mary (Stansbury ?) WIlson, both born in TEnnessee so I am going ot try and see if I can get a birth, death, marriage some kind of certificate on them and also check out the census records for them to maybe find out their other children.
