> Windy, and the List; I have long sought information concerning a Richard Wilson aproximate dates 1745-1800. So far no clues as to where he was before appearing in North Carolina with wife Elizabeth Reed Wilson. Family oral history places him in Augusta Co. VA, prior to coming to what was then Rowan County NC. He had a deed registerd for lands on Potts Creek as early as 1783, believed to have been here much earlier with children Robert, Mary and Elizabeth. Perhaps he traveled with the Reed's from New Jersy, or perhaps met his bride in VA, we don't know. Just wondering if there were any names listed in your research for a Richard Wilson. I know that Augusta County had a large number of the Scot-Irish immigrants living there, and a large number of Wilsons, but we have never found any recorded information to take this line back to it's roots in Europe.
