Good afternoon List Still seeking parents and other family of Robert P WILSON. His middle name is supposed to be Preston. I came across a entry in a SPEAR family genealogy (his wife's line) which gives his name as Phillip. I am certain that this is error. Census records and death entry in Topeka, KS records lists him as Robert P. Robert Preston WILSON born April 1836 in England. Oral family history says that he was born in Preston England. This is still not proven, but there are 2 infants listed with that name born within days of each other in one church in Preston. According to the 1900 census he immigrated about 1840, so he must have came over with family which I have been unable to locate. Robert married Catherine Calista CONANT in Marion co MO. I have records with this family living in Blue Rapids, Marshall, KS, and Topeka, Shawnee, KS. There is a known connection to Independence MO. Family bible and newspaper records indicate he, along with several other family members are buried in Independence, but have been unable to locate which cemetery. He is not in any of the Indexed ones. Unless I just missed him, several times. Any Ideas or help in connecting Robert with other family would be gratefully appreciated. Robert was in the Woolen and Hosiery Manufacturing business. There is Woolen Mills in Blue Rapids, some north of Independence, but I have not determined if there was this kind of businesses in Montieau co. Catherine's name is listed both as Kate and Colista in differing publications. She married prior to Robert to a Charles Lam or Lane. The eldest child listed below is from this marriage. Roberts children are, Charles (adopted), Frederick (Toby) b 1879 in Blue Rapids KS, Ellen Leona b 1884 in Independence MO, and twin sons b 1882 which died within days of their birth. A short bio on Frederick indicates that his schooling was California, Montieau, Missouri, except the final year, which was completed in Independence MO. This indicates that this family lived in Montieau county MO from about 1885 to about 1895. Thank You Bry
