Col. George Wilson? The reason I ask is that Lt. Col. George Wison lived in Romney, WV(then VA). He and his son Capt. John Wilson served in the PA 8th Regiment in the Revolutionary War. My 4th GGrandparent served under these two. His name John Guthrie, whose daughter Lydia Guthrie married William Done Peters. William's sister was Sarah SACKETT Peters. So, I was curious where you think the Sackett name came from? >> I dont know if John Burgess Wilson is part of my line. I have a Sackett B. Wilson born 1818 that I'm thinking got his first name from a surname somewhere along the way. This Sackett married Margaret BRITTON. They had sons Sackett B and William WILSON. William named one of his sons Britton WILSON. I'm thinking his dad got his name from a womans last name also. janice
