    1. [WILSON-L] John and Esther Wilson, Perry Co., OH, 1830-1850
    2. John Wilson was one of the children of John Wilson of Madison Twp., Perry Co., OH, who died in 1823. In 1824, he sold his interest "by devises" in his father's property (160 acres in section 30, township 17, range 15) to his brother, Samuel (Perry Co. deed book B, pg. 176). Later, John and his wife, Esther, joined with Samuel Wilson in selling the same property to James Baird on June 23, 1838 (Perry Co. deed book M, pg. 299). He is enumerated in the 1830 census (pg. 409) as age 30 to 40 years with a household consisting of two males, one under 5 years and one 5 to ten years, and three females, one under 5 years, one five to ten years, and one 30 to 40 years. Similarly, in the 1840 census, John Wilson of Hopewell Twp. is shown on pg. 80 as 40 and under 50 years of age, with a household of 2 males 5 to ten years, 1 ten to 15, and one 15 to 20, along with five females, one each under 5, 5 to ten, ten to 15, 15 to 20, and 40 to 50 years of age. Then, in the 1850 census, John Wilson, age 54, b. PA, is enumerated in Hopewell Twp. (pg. 382B) with his wife, Esther, age 49, b. PA, and their children, Esther S., F, age 28, b. OH, Rebecca, F, age 24, b. OH, H? (the full name cannot be read, but may be Hiram), M, age 19, b. OH, Nizziah, F, age 17, b. OH, Rachel, F, age 15, b. OH, and Mary, F, age 12, b. OH. The household also includes Mary E. Raulston, F, age 7, b. OH, and William Raulston, M, age 4, b. OH. I cannot locate the family in Hopewell, Perry County in the 1860 census, and there do not appear to be any burials for this family in Hopewell or Madison Townships. Does anyone have more information about this family? Wilson DeCamp Vienna, VA
