    1. [WILSON] Wilson families from Jasper and other counties in Georgia
    2. Linda Miller Wilson
    3. It has been a while since I have posted to ask for and give info on my husband's Wilson line. His name was Harry Keith Wilson, and his family has original documents dating from the late 1700's. Harry spent two years scanning his documents into his computer and then onto a CD. While I don't much info from the Internet such as census records, the info I do have is from original sources such as bills of sale, notebooks, deeds, Bibles, and the like. These people saved everything. There are also a number of bills of sale for slaves and wills with the names of slaves in them. Harry's DNA kit is 34112: Joseph Wilson b. UNK; died 1822, Jasper County, GA. Harry thought that Joseph's father was Benjamin Wilson who died in 1787 in Jackson County, GA. I don't believe that he had proof of that in his family papers. He did not list Benjamin's wife's name. I will add all the info on different counties that is available. Joseph Wilson married Sarah Pennington 1789 in Oglethorpe County, GA. Their children were the following. Sarah's father, Able Pennington, died in Tuscalossa, AL, in 1819. Micah Wilson b. 1799 in Georgia, county unknown, and died 1863 in Wilkerson County, GA: m. William Land Flemister. William's father was Lewis Flemister, guard to George Washington. Lewis was b. VA and d. Wilkes County, GA. Mary Grant Wilson b. 1800 in Georgia; married John Finney Dismukes in Quitman County, GA, in 1817. No info on John Dismukes family though I know some of them ended up in south Arkansas. Temperance Wilson d. Jasper County, GA, as a child: 1804. Able Pennington Wilson b. Jasper County, GA, 1803. Died 1862 Monticello, Drew County, AR. (Family lore states that Able lived in Monticello, GA, and when he moved to AR, he lived at Rough and Ready and was instrumental in changing that name to Monticello. There are different stories as to the AR town's name, however.) Able married Elizabeth Jane Morgan in Jasper County, GA, in 1845. She is not the daughter of Gen. John Hunt Morgan as some are lead to believe. Her parents are Stokley and Mary "Polly" Evans. Stokely was b. NC and died Jasper County, GA. No more info on Mary. Aisley Armstrong Wilson b. 1805, no place of birth or death..and no death date. She married James C. Flemister in 1821 in Jasper County, GA. No birth or death place for James. Same Flemister info as above. Lucy W. Wilson b. 1807, no place stated, and d. in Drew County, AR., married Lewis Flemister, no other info on him though it is the same as the above Flemister. Joseph Armstrong Wilson...yes, two children had the middle name of Armstrong, and Harry didn't know why. Joseph b. 1809, no other info. Married Nancey Weathersby, no other info. (Harry didn't trust info from anyone else, and I guess if a person has a boatload of original sources, everything else seems suspect. However, there are a lot of holes here that I need to fill in.) Janey Bird Wilson b. 1813, no other info; married Thomas Tuggle who was b. Greene Conty, GA. Thomas'' father was Robert b. VA; died Jasper County, GA. Benjamin Jackson Wilson; b. 1814. He married Sarah Brewer. I have a contact person for anyone from line. Elizabeth Horton Wilson b. 1818, GA; death date unknown but probably in Harris County, GA. Rebecca Smith Wilson died as a child in Jasper County, GA. I have children for all of these people if anyone is interested. I know that the Wilson's owned land in Wilkes County, GA, as well...perhaps other places. If I remember correctly, Joseph Wilson lived close to Murder Creek in Monticello, GA. There are literally hundreds of other surnames from deeds, witnesses, etc., that are in the papers. They are indexed, so if you have somebody in Jasper County, GA, let me know, and I'll look to see if there is anything in the papers. Linda Miller Wilson Also: Sarah Leain Wilson b. 1811; m. Jack Johnson; no other info. Linda Miller Wilson P. O. Box 129 Pettigrew, AR 72752 479-677-2681 **
