Hello. This is just an observation and is based on research for a living history museum where several Scots eventually settled. My finding was that written books on the subject of immigration found the Highland Scots migrated and tended to stay together based on the Clan system they were used to. Low land Scots tended to go to south and were not as closed knit. I also found a Church in NY, were the pastor was from shire and the people who built the first one and from a neighboring shire helped to split the Church into 2 separate bodies.Thie led to a local observation "that if they did not like each other in Scotland they certainly did not like each other now.
