    3. In the book 'Clearfork and More' I did find mention of the Wilsons as being one of 60 families that were living in what is now Bell County, Kentucky (was Knox County then) before Middlesborough was founded in 1889. In the early 1800's the Wilsons bought land on Calloway, Pucketts Creek, Brownies Creek and Alva. There seems to have been more than one line of Wilsons in Bell County in those early days. The book includes a history of Clearfork and all the surrounding areas on both sides of the Kentucky-Tennessee state line. The state line between Kentucky and Tennessee was actually moved at one point so you might look at one census and see someone say they were born in Tennessee and a later census say Kentucky. I don't want to steer you wrong - I don't recall exactly when it was moved but if memory serves me correctly it was moved southwards. I am remembering that Thomas Walker determined the first line when he came into Kentucky but I don't remember how many years later it was redrawn. Will have to look it up. Maybe someone on the list has that information. You might want to look at the History and Families of Bell County, Kentucky if you have not already. There are about 10 biographies of Wilson men. They were very prolific - one of them had 13 children - lots of sons - not all named. I didn't find much mention in the Whitley County book about any Wilson or Hicks. With all the Wilson discussion going on I thought I'd ask again about my rickwall. I'm trying to find John Wilson, maybe born in TN and maybe born about 1850. e married Sarah Hicks, probably in TN. I only have their names from their aughter Margretta's death certificate and I have not been able to find hem on any census in TN or KY. She apparently couldn't do math very well ecause every census I find her on ( after her marriage in 1891) has a ifferent birth year. She gives her age as born anywhere between 1870 And 880. In 1891 she married Alvin Scarborough in Whitley County, KY but laims to have been born in TN. She spent most of the first 30 years of er marriage in Campbell County, TN and she and Alvin are buried there. he other children of John and Sarah are Bill (William) and George. Does anyone have a clue about my John Wilson?
