Thank you for this encouragement. I am very hopeful and excited. He had the test before he died and did not have a hit; however, there was a match a couple of years later. We discovered that a cousin of his great grandfather had lived in the same county that my husband had moved to and had lived in for forty years. There was even a letter from the 1850's in the family that referred to this cousin though no one knew where he was. This Wilson line is from Jasper County, GA, and some moved to Drew County, AR, about 1843: Joseph Wilson, Able Pennington Wilson...moved to AR., George Wilson, Woodrow Wilson, and my late husband Harry Keith Wilson. I have probably written about this previously but just wanted to emphasize the importance of DNA. Also, on my mother's side, DNA connected our Stewart line back to VA. Our ancestor had left VA to NC as a child because his father had died, and an extended family member had guardianship of him. The VA line had been looking for him for a hundred years. DNA brought him home.
