    2. My Wilsons were from White Co. Carmi Illinois but I have a feeling they are related somehow. I have an Eliza Harris b. abt. 1875 m. 1900 to Raleigh (Roley) Wilson, son of William Berry Wilson brother of my John Harvey Wilson b. 1850, father of Byrd Lanier Wilson who was father to Pearl Stella Wilson b. 1919. Maybe no connection but Eliza and Pearl jumped out at me.

    3. Sandy, Only this summer did I find out that my Wilson family had roots in Illinois. I know of 4 generations of my Wilson's living in Manchester. The oldest member, John Wilson and his children came from Kentucky. In 1880 ish my line moved on to Missouri. I my self (my Wilson's are my father's mothers family) am an Estes descendent and currently live in Illinois about 2 hours from the area where my Wilson descendants came from. I have gathered quite a bit of information on my Wilson line but as yet I have not located any one else on the list who is connected. I would like to find out where my John Wilson (who's wife is unknown to me and who had that I know of one son named Richard and a daughter named Sarah.) was from in Kentucky. Don't give up hope. There is someone out there who is connected. 3. Hi all - and especially Cora! I'm saying the same thing about Jefferson County, Indiana - surely someone on this list is related to "my" John Wilson (b. 16 Jan 1787 in Minnigaff, Scotland), immigrated through Philadelphia cir 1819/1820 and married Mary Park (b. Cir 1800 in Scotland) in Jefferson Co., IN 02 May 1821. They had 10 kids - some stayed locally, one went to CA, one to Kansas, one unknown, one deceased as young man. Is anyone related to these folks or did they just magically appear??? 3. Hi Sandy ... Most of my WILSONs are from IL (specifically Randolph County), but no Alexander in the line (that I'm aware of). It seems that my ancestors liked naming their sons "William". 3. Geri There is a very good possibility as my Alexander was born 1844 in Jefferson County which I believe is a neighboring county to Wayne county. I am HOPING to get to Mt. Vernon Friday which is Jefferson County. I have been told that they have a great genealogy department there so I am going to do some lookups and also i want to go to the court house and see if I can find a birth certificate for him and a marriage license for her as I have nothing on Mary at all. I plan to stop at the Salem Courthouse and try to get a copy of his death certificate because I do know he died around December 10, 1927 in Marion County. I will print your email out and see if I can find out anything on them while I am there. 3. Sandy, My Jonathan Wilson and his wife Eliza Guntter were both born in Illinois according to their daughter, Amanda Jane Wilson's death certificate and her answers on many census forms. She was born September 13, 1853, Posey County, IN which is on the IN - IL border but I cannot find Jonathan and Eliza on any census anywhere to find siblings or parents for them. Wonder if your Alexander could be related. Everything indicates they spent their time in Edwards, White and Wayne Counties, Illinois.
