Hi everyone, I am new to the list and looking for any information some one may have on the following family. I am searching for siblings and parents of Rebecca (Rebecka) WILSON. According to the 1900 census Rebecka A. was born Dec 1850 and had been married to my ggrandfather for 19 years, and they were living in Copiah Co. MS. I know absolutely nothing about her other than what I have been able to find on census records which at this point is very little. She and her mother were both shown to be born in MS. Her father shows to have been born in IN. 1880 census shows my ggrandfather living in the same household as one of his brother William Van Minton and says that he is married, but Rebecka is not there. Possibly visiting a relative only heaven knows where. I have been unable to find Rebecka on any other census thus far but have just now finished looking in Copiah Co, and starting to look in other counties. Does anyone by chance have a WILSON family, that had a daught! er Rebecka (Rebecca) A. born in Dec 1850? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Below is her line down to my fathers generation. Dear Sandy: Thank you very much for being so open as to share a family tree you thought might be helpful. So many people on these list are petty and angry typing out unkind and unrelated information. I for one don't open half of the emails since they either are infected lately or have nothing to do with my line. I certainly don't insult people though just because their information may not be relevant at the moment. Don't let the turkeys get you down honey!....Good luck. My Wilsons landed in Illinois but originally - at least as far back as I can find were from VA. However, my Rawleigh Chinn Wilson married Callia T. Rice in Washington Co. KY she was from Livingston. They lived and died in White Co. IL I too am in search of a John Wilson but he was married to Elizabeth Travers Chinn parents of the aforementioned.

Patty, I think that was very rude and uncalled for, the way you snapped on Sandy like that. No one os perfect and we are all entitled to make mistakes. You live in the same world as we do, so you need to get used to people making mistakes.I am sure you have made your fair share of them. I know of one that you did make, and that was being very rude to someone who accidently posted on the wrong message board. ----- Original Message ----- From: "patt reeder" <reedergen@yahoo.com> To: <WILSON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, October 05, 2002 12:14 PM Subject: Re: [WILSON-L] Myers I thought I would contribute > > Sandy, > What does your Myers family tree have to do with the WILSON LIST???? besides take up our time and space! > Patty > Sandy Bollhorst wrote:MYERS FAMILY TREE > > Samuel Myers (1809 - 1878) m. Rebecca WILSON b. abt 1796, wed Wm. FARMER b.abt1795, Blount Co. Tn. Hi all Wilson Cousins, Obviously, My 4:00 AM posting should not have come to the list, an error for which I should get several good whallops. Sorry! I've kept this one short and doesn't have to be scrolled! from Cousin, Jim
Hi Sue, While I did print your 1st email and it is around here somewhere, the prurpose of the posting at WILSON list WAS for You. Glad that you did respond again. When I installed my W98 2 ED about 3 years ago, I installed it as an upgrade(being sloppy) and because my computer is about 5 years old and slowing under the weight of LOTS of deleted stuff and programs which "Will not let go" when I try to rid myself of them , etc: I decided to erase the hard drive and re-install, but twice I got to a spot which called for a response for which, I was lost so I took it to a business man and he did it all for me including at my request a faster modem than my 28,800. Well, eventho the modem and the mother board were both Intel, the new modem was incompatible and then other problems which my ATT techie was able to guide me through. I have not yet opened the attachment as I have just got a Norton Anti Virus program and have not yet had a look to see if I can manage it. After 2 virus attacks I never open an attachment. Anyway back to Wm. & Joe brothers and sons of John 1757 FARMER, I have nothing on Joe, excepting the two lines which you must have seen. I have a tooth ache, awoke at 2:30, took a pain killer and deciced to send this email and at the moment, can hardly keep my eyes open. Yep, i'll "keep an eye out" for your Rebecca, Cousin, i'll stay in touch! Jim

I don't have a Thurzya Estes but my Estes did come from England. In 1780 they were in either S.C., Tennessee or Virginia. Depending of the state boundaries back then. By 1804 they were still in S.C., in 1844 they were in Cannon Co., Tennessee and by 1876 were in Arkansas. In 1956 ish my father came to Cook Co., Illinois where he married and finally settled in Dupage Co. When he retired he returned to Arkansas where he was raised. Hi list members, I have a favor to ask. I have a cousin who is doing a research project and needs some help. This doesn't have anything to do with the Wilson's other than I am connected to the Shannon family thru marriage. So if you don't what to read this now is the time to delete my message. :-) Does anyone have access to the Family Tree Makers subscription "International & Passengers Records"? I don't have access to it but know a family member is listed on it. The name is Nathaniel Shannon and I was hoping if someone has the subscription they could open it to see if it is our family member. We know Nathaniel Shannon arrived in Boston in 1687. Don't know the name of the ship. Nathaniel was listed as "known immigrant" and was a member of the Old South Church. He was a Naval Officer at the Port of Boston for 25 years. Can anyone who has a subscription check to see if Nathaniel Shannon could be the same Shannon who arrived in 1687 and if so did he have any other family members with him. I believe he had a brother named Robert. I really appreciate any help from anyone who is willing to do so. Roberta Hall
I wanted to thank everyone for their help and suggestions. I am certain that my Ludson Wilson was indeed, named that. It is not just on a census but also in our Family Bible. I know that he was born in Henry Co. Va. in 1805 and married a girl from Mississipp in 1845 in Avoyelles Parish, La. We doubt this was his first marriage because he was 39 at the time. He probably was married once before and had other children somewhere. We would so like to find those cousins. Ironicaly, there was another person named Ludson Worsham, born at the same time and place, but his family tree is very well researched and documented. My Ludson and he may have been named for the same person, but the other family does not see any connection to my Wilsons? I have not found Ludson Wilson on any census but the 1850 one in La. He died in 1859. I thought he surely must be on the 1840 or 1830 one somewhere, but I can not find it. Thanks anyway. Please remember me, if you see a Ludson. Good afternoon List Still seeking parents and other family of Robert P WILSON. His middle name is supposed to be Preston. I came across a entry in a SPEAR family genealogy (his wife's line) which gives his name as Phillip. I am certain that this is error. Census records and death entry in Topeka, KS records lists him as Robert P. Robert Preston WILSON born April 1836 in England. Oral family history says that he was born in Preston England. This is still not proven, but there are 2 infants listed with that name born within days of each other in one church in Preston. According to the 1900 census he immigrated about 1840, so he must have came over with family which I have been unable to locate. Robert married Catherine Calista CONANT in Marion co MO. I have records with this family living in Blue Rapids, Marshall, KS, and Topeka, Shawnee, KS. There is a known connection to Independence MO. Family bible and newspaper records indicate he, along with several other family members are buried in Independence, but have been unable to locate which cemetery. He is not in any of the Indexed ones. Unless I just missed him, several times. Any Ideas or help in connecting Robert with other family would be gratefully appreciated. Robert was in the Woolen and Hosiery Manufacturing business. There is Woolen Mills in Blue Rapids, some north of Independence, but I have not determined if there was this kind of businesses in Montieau co. Catherine's name is listed both as Kate and Colista in differing publications. She married prior to Robert to a Charles Lam or Lane. The eldest child listed below is from this marriage. Roberts children are, Charles (adopted), Frederick (Toby) b 1879 in Blue Rapids KS, Ellen Leona b 1884 in Independence MO, and twin sons b 1882 which died within days of their birth. A short bio on Frederick indicates that his schooling was California, Montieau, Missouri, except the final year, which was completed in Independence MO. This indicates that this family lived in Montieau county MO from about 1885 to about 1895. Thank You Bry
I want to keep your message for several reasons. 1. I have traced our line back to John D. Wilson born about 1795 in South Carolina married Mary born in Virginia > William N or M Wilson born about 1821 married Janurary 1861, Melissa C. Richardson in Coosa County, Alabama (William had apparently been married before, since there is a 11 year old son with the same name William M. and both son and father were living with John D. Wilson 1860 census. At that time William is 39 and Melissa is 13 years old. In this same census there is Martha E Sexton, her husband and 2 children born in Tennessee, which according to birth dates Martha E could be the sister of William M. This also ties them to Tennessee. > Myrtle Wilson born about 1838 > Rhetta Florence Hamilton > Florence Estelle Johnson > Michael Stuart Killian. 2. There has been Indian heritage rumors passed down each generation, from where we don't know. 3. John purchased 160 acres in 1830 in Coosa County, Alabama. I haven't asked for a land purchase agreement from the land development, because I understand there isn't much genealogical information there unless it was a military land grant. 4. There is another bit of information passed down, that family came up from Florida and stayed with them. It hasn't been determined what family, but has been suggested that it was the Wilson side. In time we may be able to connect our lines. I haven't able to determine where in Tennessee they could have been from or from where in South Carolina. This Wilson line is from my husbands Mike Killian's side. I take every opportunity to put a plug in for my line: I am a descendant of Virginia Marie Morrison, d/o Elva Permelia Wilson, d/o John Melton Wilson born 1874 Highland County, Va. or Pendleton County, WV, s/o John W. Wilson born about 1842 in Highland County, VA. married Janie Jones, s/o of John L. Wilson born about 1819 in Lewis County, WV, married Barbara Erwin. I wish we could establish the L was Ludson. It took me awhile to determine and feel safe that it was an L and not an S. Any ideas are welcomed.
