On May 25th, 1876, the 16th Ms. Infantry Co. E. held a 15yr. mustering into the Confederate Army reunion, in Magnolia, Ms. It was also the laying of the corner stone of either the Masonic lodge, or the new County seat building. Would anyone have any info from Newspapers, Diaries, letters, or any other record of this event. My ggrandfather R.D.Wilson was killed by lightning on his way to this reunion, and I'm also looking for any record of his death. Thank you. Johnie Wilson

I don't know about this name, but some of my Wilson from Highland County, Va went to Missouri and some went to California and of course Ohio (they couldn't all go to the same place!, but could have followed each other as many did. I'll consider that point and I haven't considered it. I mostly was trying to find Descendants of Harry Preston hopefully to contact today for old pictures and handed down stories. I will say I have thought of them being named after a newly formed Preston County or whoever it was the county was named for just as seems like half my husbands line has been named Andrew Jackson, Thomas Jefferson and George Washington. I also have a John Melton Wilson, whose ggrandfather on his mother's side was John Milton Jones from Highland County, WV. Thanks for responding. I also have Preston in my line. Robert Preston Wilson. His name supposedly came from the city of Preston England, where he was supposedly born in April of 1836. I have yet been unable to prove.
