George, This is what I know....... Hugh & Lydia had a daughter named Rachel(Mary Rachel to be exact) who married George Gray @ 1830. They had Robert & Joseph in the Chester Cty area. Then came Mary, Benjamin, Rachel by 1839 & I am assuming they were still in Chester Cty. In 1844 they had Sarah Jane in Pittsburgh PA. My Wilson's start at William Wilson wife Sarah unknown John W. Wilson 1810 VA/WV wife Christine (last name may be Barker) b. abt. 1815 VA//WV Michael Wilson b. abt. 1848 Ohio Co., VA (now Ritchie Co., WV) wife Mary C. Webb b. 1855 Gilmer Co., WV William Lafayette Wilson b. 1873 Calhoun Co., WV wife Sennettia Sophronia "Nettie" Norman b. 1881 Calhoun Co., WV I am not sure, but I think maybe William (no. 1) could have gone to Ohio and died there. According to a write up about a Wilson reunion held in Cambridge, Ohio, 1931 this appears to be my William. Any help, always appreciated. Sandy (Beam) Gifford Anderson Island, WA

I am seeking information on the Wilsons of Virginia. Associated names would be CHINN, TARPLEY, TRAVERS, BEVERIDGE, THOMPSON, CREBS, BLUE, BERRY, RICE. Some of these names are married and maiden names of Wilson children. I am looking in the Middleburg, Loudoun Co. Va. area circa 1790's and earlier. I can't help much, but do have a few Chinns I have gathered in my search for the families of Perry Wilson and Rachel Thomas, married 1804, Fayette Co., KY. One of her siblings married a Graves and following that line lead me to Chinns. One of the Chinns daughters was Elizabeth Perry Chinn, born 1834. My recollection of Fayette Co. court records is that a Chinn was administrator of a Wilson estate. Although I have no Tarpley in my records, that name is very familiar. Contact me if you want more information. Dave Miller > I am seeking information on the Wilsons of Virginia. This would be great. Especially if it could include those who have already established their lines and have stopped looking and participating on this message board. George Wilson
Hi Col. I use to have a list of some Wilson groups but over the years since I never received back an answer but from one group called the "Wilson Clearinghouse" at 207 Auburn Dr. Dalton, GA 30720. The man that answered was a J. W. Reid and he asked that I send family group sheets to him. I never sat down and sent the group sheets. I also sent and requested information from Wilson, NC thinking that I might gleam something from whom the town was named for. However nothing so far. What information I do have is that my ancestor is Joseph Wilson b. 15 Nov 1797 NC and died 24 May 1874 in Statesboro, Bulloch, GA. I have no middle name. I have also his information his wife was Emmaline L. Bowen d/o Elisha Bowen and Penelope Everett. The above couple had seven children, which included two sets of twins. From my research from Bulloch Co., GA I have found a will of Samuel Wilson, widow Martha and a son Joseph among other named children. I have not found documentation as to where Samuel and Martha are from. I do have pictures of the next generation of some if not all of the children of Joseph and Emmaline (Bowen) Wilson. Joseph and Emmaline are buried in the Wilson Cemetery outside of Statesboro, GA. I will continue to research and see if I can find the other Wilson information unless I threw it away then its gone. I do believe there had been some type of "Wilson Society" but I do believe there is no activity. If I have rambled on I apologize. Thanks for listening Ellen
By what date were they still in PA. Any chance they went to TN? George

Try this. If you're using Outlook Express, open it and select tools on the toolbar at the top of the window. Another menu will open and at the bottom of that, select options. On the options window, select the tab at the top titled "Security". The fourth selection down says: Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus. De-select it. Click on the apply button on the bottom of the window, and then exit out of all windows.
