I really need help from the list. Trying to determine if there is anyone who can make a connection between the following 3 families: On the 1860 Jackson Co, AL census I find: Frances/Francis (I've seen it both ways) WOODALL, 37 w/f (born ca 1823) in GA What was her maiden name? Lewis/Louis Woodall, her son, w/m, age 13, born GA (ca 1847) ( Actually, at the time, Lewis was living in the Jackson County AL household of Thomas Wilson, born ca 1801, TN and wife, Mildred Rogers Wilson, born ca 1812 VA? His mother is believed to be living just a few miles away from this Wilson household.) Paulina J. Woodall, daughter, w/f age 11, born ca 1849 AL John H. Woodall, son, age 3, born ca 1857 AL Also living in this same household are the following: Lucinda Perkins, age 42, born ca 1818 b. TN John Perkins, age 22, b. ca 1838 TN Mary A. Perkins, age 11, b. ca 1849) TN Martha J. Perkins, age 9, b. ca 1851 TN William H. Perkins, age 7, b. ca 1853) TN George H. Perkins, age 4, b. ca 1856 TN Can anyone tie the Wilson, Woodall and Perkins families together? I'm trying to identify my gg Wilson gparents. The earliest Wilson I have is my g gfather, Abram/Abraham Wilson/Willson. He was found on the Morgan Co, AL 1870 census, he married Sarah J. Nesmith in Oct of 1870 in Lawrence Co, AL and disappeared in the spring of 1874. Never heard from again. Paula
Hello, Does any body know the descendants of the family WILSON y MIJARES after 1900. Probably alliance with the painter's family Frederico Martinez y Matos. (maybe marriage with his son ?) the portrait (retrato) in Maria Wilson y Mijares is in the "Musem National des Beaux arts in Habana) Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes in La Habana. I ' m sure, there are descendants of this family in La Habana, at present. Any information on this family is greatly appreciated. HELENE from France.

Tried the website in the email that begins sorting Wilson and speak of TN first. Could not get there. Any ideas?
I have very scanty information regarding my Wilson line. My grandmother Eva Lou Wilson was born on Sept. 3, 1871 I believe in Iowa (Des Moines) but not positive. What I am sure of is she was raised in Iowa. Her father was Robert Wilson and mother's maiden name was Browning. There were several children beside Eva and some moved to San Francisco and some to Southern California. Robert Wilson may have been born in either MO or OH and he and his wife died in Iowa. Both I think before 1934. Is this family familiar to anyone? Evalou
I show that Pleasant Wilson, son of Philip Wilsons, born in 1796. Beverlee
I have a main interest in Wilsons that were in TN, as I have, like a lot of you, an elusive ancestor that I can't get a handle on. I wanted to make a website where the information could be sorted immediately by what state and county a Wilson is in, to include ALL counties, not just Tennessee (in case mine was somewhere else!!!!) and allow instant additions, by you, to the list, without requiring a whole lot of time from me (since I, like you, have a really busy life!!!) So I made a research section where you can put your Wilson/Willson/Willsen in a few different ways. Sections in the Research Area include Family Lines and Most Wanted Ancestors. The Family Lines lets you put the Wilson by State and County as general notes and then add your own specific info underneath. It is not intended to be an all-inclusive tree repository, but if you have a website somewhere else, you can put the URL pointing to it. Take a look http://www.halcyondays.com/Wilson/wilstnrschfr.asp

James Wilson came from Burnt Cabin, Bedford County, Penna, in 1781 and purchased lot 291 where Smith's store now is. On it he erected a log house and on the 3rd of October at the first term of court in Washington County, Penna, he was licensed to keep a tavern. Later he bought lot 21, where Charlton's confectionary now is on the east side of Main Street. This lot was purchased on a certificate. In 1792 he passed his title to his son Hugh Wilson. A deed had previously been made to Hugh Wilson, August 15, 1786. A house was built on this lot which at that time was the largest in the town and in it the shows that visited the place and various amateur performances were held. Dr J Julius Le Moyne first opened his drug store in this house. After his removal, Mrs Baker's Female Seminary was located here until her removal in 1815 to a house on Maiden Street. James Wilson lived in the house he built on the corner of Main and Beau Streets until his death and his widow lived there several years after. He died in 1792 and by his will left to his wife, Margaret, the use of two hundred acres of land adjoining the town until James Wilson, the youngest son, should be of age; then the farm was to be divided equally between James Wilson, Thomas Wilson and John Wilson. Hugh Wilson, the oldest son, had been previously provided for by property set off to him among which was the lot on Main Street near Maiden Street. The house and lot where James Wilson Sr lived and died was left to his younges son, James Wilson, but it later came into possession of Hugh Wilson by whom it was owned many years. A daughter of James Wilson, Matty Wilson, became Mrs Bryson. James Wilson, the younger son, was a coppersmith and lived in the town several years. Of the other sons, except Hugh Wilson, nothing is known. Hugh Wilson, in addition to the property obtained from his father purchased from James Marshel in 1786 a lot on which now stands Morgan & Hargreaves's store. He opened a store on lot 21 before 1795 and was a merchant for many years. He married for his first wife, Rachel Leet, daughter of Isaac Leet and sister of Major Daniel Leet, by whom he had five children: Rebecca Wilson, Margaret Wilson, Rachel Wilson, Hugh W Wilson and Eliza Wilson. Rebecca Wilson became the wife of James Blaine who in 1809 opened a dry goods store next door to Hugh Wilson. Later he purchased the stone house built by David Bradford. In this house they both lived and died leaving no children. He was elected justice of the peace in 1817 and served three terms. He was also county treasurer from 1815 to 1817. Margaret Wilson, the second daughter of Hugh Wilson, became the wife of John Marshel, the son of Col James Marshel. He was sheriff of the county in 1835 and before the expiration of the term was appointed cashier of the Franklin Bank, now First National. This position he retained until 1857 when he resigned and returned to a farm near Washington where he died. Mrs Dr Matthew H Clark of Washington, and Mrs S A Clark of Pittsburgh are his daughters. Rachel Wilson, the third daughter of Hugh and Rachel Wilson, became the wife of Richard Harding and settled first in Alabama and later at Wheeling. Mrs Harding now resides at Philadelphia with her daughter, Mrs Rebecca Harding Davis, well known to the public as an authoress. Mrs John L Gow of Washington is also a daughter to Mrs Harding. Hugh W Wilson, the only son of Hugh and Rachel, settled in South STrabane township on the farm his grandfather purchased and where his father built the residence in which James W Wilson, the son of Hugh Wilson, now lives. Hugh Wilson, after the death of his first wife, married Margaret Fleming, a widow with one daughter who afterwards became the wife of the Rev John McFadden of Pittsburgh. By the second wife he had one daughter, Eliza Wilson, who became the wife of the Rev Thomas Swain of Philadelphia who was pastor of the Baptist Church at Washington, Penna, from 1846 to 1850. After his resignation as pastor of that church, they returned to Philadelphia. After the death of Margaret, the second wife, Hugh Wilson married a Miss Spencer, an English lady who survived him several years. Marcus Wilson came to America from Coleraine, County Londonderry, Ireland. He had four children: John Wilson; James Wilson; Alexander Wilson; and Isaac Wilson. John Wilson, the eldest, married Catherine Cunningham, daughter of Christopher Cunningham, in June, 1785, and in June of the next year, Marcus Wilson and family, including the wife of John Wilson and infant son, Nicholas Wilson, emigrated to this country. Alexander Wilson settled in Philadelphia. James Wilson came directly to the town of Washington, Penna, where he lived until his death in 1828, aged seventy years. John Wilson, with his family and his father settled in Philadelphia where they remained three years, and in 1789 removed to Washington, Penna. They started from Philadelphia with all their goods in a cart; on reaching Bedford, Penna, the cart was abandoned as bridle paths were the only roads west of the mountains and packhorses were used. John Wilson was a cabinet-maker and at once commenced his business in Washington. He built a house and shop on the lot where A T Baird's store now stands. He was elected justice of the peace February 1, 1799, and held the office until the infirmities of age compelled him to retire. He died March 16, 1847, aged eighty five years. His widow died in December, 1857, aged eighty eight year. They had twelve children, of whom Nicholas Wilson went south when a young man, and settled in Iberville, Louisiana. The second child, Mary Wilson, was born in Philadelphia, November 30, 1787, and came to this town with her parents. She married David Acheson, October 30, 1805. She lived a long and useful life and died August 2, 1872, aged eighty five years. Martha Wilson, the third child of John Wilson, was born in Washington, Penna, February 18, 1790. She became the wife of Dr John Wishart of Washington in October, 1827. They remained in Washignton; she survived her husband by seven years and died March, 1871, at the residence of her son, Marcus Wishart, in Allegheny county, Penna. Margaret Wilson, another daughter of John Wilson, married William Wilson of Philadelphia and lived and died in that city. Jane Wilson, also a daughter of John Wilson, married George Baird of Washington, October 25, 1811. For several years they resided in various places and in 1814 returned to Washington where she died in 1872. John Baird and A Todd Baird of Washington are her sons. Marcus Wilson, son of John Wilson, was born in Washington, Penna. When a young man he moved to Wheeling where he died August 1, 1837. Alexander Wilson, an attorney of Washington, is his son. John K Wilson, also a son of John Wilson and a native of Washington, Penna, married Maria Shields, the only daughter of David Shields and a granddaughter of Major Daniel Leet. He was for many years a prominent merchant in Washington and lived in the house where he was born on the east side of Main Street opposite the courthouse. The site is now occupied by Hastings Hardware and the Washington Savings Bank. About 1839 he removed to Allegheny City where he still resides. David S Wilson, a leading attorney of Washington, is a son. Catharine Wilson, a daughter of John Wilson, became the wife of Andrew Todd of Washington. Their son, Alexander Todd, is now an attorney in Washington borough. James Wilson, the youngest son of John Wilson, was born in 1806 and when a lad of sixteen was killed by the falling of the chimney at the burning of a house on Maiden Street, February 13, 1822.
