    1. Re: [WILSON-L] Revolutionary War
    2. Harold, This James is my brick wall. He was b. 1767 and he m. 1795 in Bath Co. to Sarah Mounts. There was a Wilson Settlement in the Jackson River area. My bro.s and I visited Bath Co. and Greenbrier Co. last fall. The Wilson Settlement was on the Highland and Bath Co. line on the Jackson River. This river is beautiful and wide with many shallow places. He remained in Wayne Co., WV but his "neighbor"(no kinship found) was William who with his children relocated to Wayne and then across the Ohio to Gallia Co., Ohio. I think we have two different James Wilson here....my bro. is also, a James Wilson.

    2. James Wilson who m. Sarah Mounts in 1795 was in Bath and Greenbrier Co.s and relocated to what was Kanawha, Cabell and finally Wayne Co. WV. James and Sarah had 13 children. Their fifth child, Charles Wilson m. Hanna Garred/ Jarrett their last son and 12th child, Mordecai Wilson m. Vashti Jarrell. With families this large there are probably other Wilsons who m. Jarrett/Garreds, et. al. Hope this helps with your questions. Dee

    1. [WILSON-L] Wilson - Cox connections?
    2. Terri
    3. Hi All - New to this list and trying to make a connection thru a collateral line. Is anyone out there looking for Charlotte Cox Wilson of Barnegat, NJ.? Info I have (and may not be totally correct but close) -- so far -- Charlotte may be the daughter of Sylvanus Cox (b. late 1780's). Charlotte married John A. Wilson. Their son, Sylvanus Cox Wilson, b. 1839 at Barnegat. A grandson, Earl Wilson, was living in Orange, Connecticut in 1976. The Charlotte Cox Wilson family moved to Rhode Island in the 1860's. And if I'm anywhere near correct in thinking this is my line, Charlotte is the sister of Charles Cox of Barnegat. Married Elizabeth Burr - (more if needed). Also, possibly a sister, Mary Cox, married Stephen Ridgway -- again, Barnegat, NJ. Sooooo - if any of this rings any bells, please let me hear from you. Thanks and happy hunting to all - Terri

    1. [WILSON-L] WILSON/BENNETT in Conway Co., AR
    2. Here is what little I know about my husband's fathers side. His father says that his mother was raped by a Choctaw Indian that lived on the reservation in Seminole, Oklahoma by a name of Buck WALKER. He never knew the man. But he does resemble the native american traits of black hair and high cheek bones, which he passed on to his children. His birth certificate shows only his mother's name. She was 25 years old when he was born and she was living in Conway County, AR. On the bottom portion of the birth certificate it has "Court Order" typed in next to Certificate of Attending Physician or midwife. It was signed by a physician. His father was raised by George Elda WILSON who was married his mother, Martha Ellen BENNETT. She is one of the daughter's of Allen E. BENNETT and Martha C. WILSON. The two WILSON lines are not supposed to be related to one another. He says that somehow they are suppose to be related to MIZELLE'S (multiple ways to spell it). A kind genealogy angel found them in the 1910 Census in Union Twp, Conway, AR BENNETT, Allen E. Head 30 AR AR AR Martha Wife 30 AR SC AL Ellen Dau 08 AR AR AR Charity Dau 07 AR AR AR Millie Dau 05 AR AR AR Tommy Son 03 AR AR AR Virgil Son 1 1/2 AR AR AR Allen E. BENNETT md Martha WILSON on 21 Sep 1900 in Conway, Arkansas. I couldn't locate an Allen BENNETT in the 1880 Census in Arkansas. He may have been born after the census was taken. I'm just trying to find some connections or a the right area to search. Peggy
