    3. Dear Nancy: I'm not sure what census you have access to but can you look for John Wilson; Loudoun Co. or Fauquier Co. Virginia 1800 - 1820, wife Elizabeth "Betsey" I have the children's names if you have that info available. 1. [WILSON-L] TVA -- New Subject Line
    2. As a historian/genealogist I recognize the importance of the TVA project during the New Deal in the 1930s. Although none of my ancestors were involved, nevertheless, tens of thousands of people were displaced, and towns and cemetaries submerged in the flood waters. These people went many directions and won't show up until the 1940 census is released in 2012. Some moved long distances, but the numerous jobs created through the construction of dams, electric power generators and grids, planting by hand thousands of acres of tree seedlings, and numerous other new job opportunities provided jobs whereby many of the displaced did not move that far. A solution to the problem with the numerous postings to the Wilson and other sites might be the creation of a message board for TVA DISPLACED which would bring together those searching for ancestors of all surnames. Just an idea. Might be a great aid. Andy in Texas

    3. because no one will ever change the subject line. They just keep responding. It goes back to a Wilson DNA subject which included a message about TVA of which I asked... what was TVA. Now everyone is responding and talking about the Tennessee Valley flood. Let's get back on topic people. 1. [WILSON-L] WILSON--MS and AR
    2. Looking for information on the family of Daniel P. Wilson. He was born abt 1838 in TN. I find him in 1860 in Choctow Co MS with wife Sarah. By 1880 he is living in Van Buren Co AR and widowed. He had at least two daughters, Sarah b. abt 1862 in MS. Sarah married William H. Henson? and they had one daughter by 1880 born in March of that year. On the 1880 census the name looks to be Lizb. A. E. Daniel's other daughter was listed age 9 b. MS. Her name was Dicy P. In Nov of 1880 Daniel P. married Elizabeth Marshall Scott. She had two daughters of her own by Mr. Scott. Their names were Angeline and Mary. I lose track of all of the above mentioned people except Angeline. She married Walter B. Goodnight also in 1880. These are my gg-grandparents. I need help to locate Daniel, Elizbeth, Mary, Dicey, William H. Henson, Sarah Wilson Henson and Lizb. After 1880 they all just seem to vanish. Kathy, Killeen, TX

    1. [WILSON-L] Reason for talk on Dams
    2. Many families of early 1930s were displaced by the dam project. One of these was the Wilson family of Tennessee. They were one of many many East Tennessee families that moved from the area when the lake water covered their land.
