Janean, this is really interesting. I don't know if it connects with my family, but I happen to live in Staunton, VA although I am not a native. My husband was, however, and he was a HAINES. His nephew is researching that line. I want to pass this on to him, at least. Vivian, Do you know anything about your John Wilson's grandchildren? My grandmother was born in MS, but I don't know where and I don't know her parents names, but on one of the census records it says that her father was born in IN. I wondered if maybe you had some information that might help me out. She was born in maybe 1850, or 1854, the date is illegible. Her name was Rebeccka Ann. She married John Warren Minton sometime around 1879 or 1880. Their 1st child Sarah was born in Oct 1881. So far I have been unable to find out where they were married or what part of MS she was born in. She disappeared from the census between 1900 and 1910. My ggrandfather is buried at Mt Zion Bapt Church Cemetery in Copiah County MS and I assume that she is buried there too, but I have no idea where the graves are or even if they are marked because Mt Zion keeps no records and it was started in the early 1800s. I only found out that he was buried there because of his death certificate because my father remembered when he died. When she died they didn't keep death records so I really have hit a brick wall. I have found a Rebecca Ann Wilson that was born in Pontotac County MS, that is in the right age range and her fathers name is John W. Wilson and her mother was Mary or Polly Huckabee, but that is a little far north in the state for her to have met my grandfather. However that is where I will start looking as soon as I can to see if that joins up with anything that I have. Diane M. I doubt if I could make a connection. But the given name "Mahala" always pops out at me. However, the Mahala with whom I'm most familiar is Mahala RIGGS, who married Elkanah LEWIS in 1824, most likely in VA or NC near Surry Co., NC. I don't know anything about her farther back. If there's a connection with WILSON I don't know about it. Elkanah and Mahala were my gr-gr-gr-grandparents. I have never tried to use Ebay. I'm deathly afraid of auctions of any kind! Thanks, Cindy Cindy, I save a census page in three sections and trim and glue stick together. It makes a large page but at least is large enough that it's readable. Howard, Portland, OR

I am looking for information on Margaret Willson who married James Cheever on May 19, 1791 in Andover, Essex, Ma. This information is for my family tree. The name can be spelled Willson or Wilson. Frances/Francis Woodall, female born about 1823, probably in GA Lewis or Louis Woodall, male born about 1847, in GA Paulina J. Woodall, female born about 1849, probably in GA John H. Woodall, male born about 1857, probably in GA The above Lewis/Louis Woodall is said to have been bound over to Thomas Wilson and wife, Mildred Rogers Wilson about 1855. Thomas Wilson was living in Bellefonte, Jackson Co, AL at the time and Lewis/Louis Woodall and his mother, Frances, were living in Stevenson, Jackson Co, AL when Lewis/Louis went to live in the Wilson home. He later left to fight in the Civil War and after the war, Louis/Lewis settled in KY. I don't know what happened to Paulina and John, Lewis/Louis' siblings. Could the Hodges surname be connected to the Woodall surname? Lucinda Perkins, female born about 1818, probably in TN. Lucinda could be her first or middle name. She could have been on other census' under either her first or middle name. CHILDREN: John Perkins, male born about 1838, probably in TN Mary A. Perkins, female born about 1849, probably in TN Martha J. Perkins, female born about 1851, probably in TN William H. Perkins, male born about 1853, probably in TN George H. Perkins, male born about 1856, probably in TN Could the Hodges surname be connected to the Perkins surname? Several of the above Perkins and Woodall children have "H" as a middle initial and I've found several Hodges near other Woodall and Perkins families in other places. These 2 families were shown living in the same household on the 1860 Jackson Co, AL Census. I think they were probably related. No husbands were shown for either family. Later, on the 1880 Marion Co TN census, Lucinda is found living in the home of her daughter Martha J. Perkins Rogers and her husband William Rogers. Martha J. Perkins Rogers indicated that her father was born in KY. I have been unable to find anything further on these 2 families. Surely there must be Woodall and Perkins researchers who can identify and place these people. The only Lucinda Perkins found on the earlier 1850 TN census is a Lucinda Perkins found in Hardin Co, TN; this Lucinda is too young to be the Lucinda I seek. I haven't been able to find her on earlier AL Census sheets. I really need help with these families. Paula
Hi All, After all the discussion regarding ancestry.com & genealogy.com I subscribed to the former. Actually, it was a early Mother's Day gift from my husband. I've found several newspaper articles that have proven to be quite helpful, including the story of my grandfather's near fatal plowing accident at age 12, when a car startled the horse he was riding, throwing him off and his being run over by the plow that he was using in the field, nearly scalping him. Sorry for the aside, but my question is this: Can you save to disk an entire page of the 1920 census and still be able to read it? I've not been successful. Can anyone help? Thanks, Cindy P.S. Grandpa's hair all grew back! Researching Wilsons from Putnam Co., IN & Fleming Co., KY
Jeannine - The only additional information I have on Nancy WILSON is that she was probably born in Hagerstown, Indiana. Nancy WILSON married John COMER. I know they had children. And I am sure it was more than one. BUT I only know the name of one - my great great grandfather - Alfred Buck COMER. I don't know anything else about Nancy. I will keep your email and if I discover something else I will let you know. Thanks for writing, Teresa
Hello, I would appreciate any help or suggestions in finding information on my g-g-grandmother, Isabelle/Bell (Ganoe) Wilson. Here is what I have so far; I think she was born about 1846 in Warriorsmark, Huntingdon County, Pa. She was the daughter of Alfred & Nancy (Douglas) Ganoe. She married James Wilson, son of Thomas & Christina (Hoover) Wilson, about July 1864. They lived in Janesville, Clearfield County, Pa. until the death of James in 1909. In 1910, Isabelle was still living in Janesville, staying with a Mary Davis. I lost the trail after that. Some family members believe that she moved to Sandy Ridge, Center County, Pa. Any information on the other family members would also be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Ron
