    2. Chasing_Shadows There was an Ezekiel Wilmoth (note spelling) born 1764 in Morristown, New Jersey. He married Mary Riggs, daughter of Samuel Riggs and Elizabeth Tompkins. She was born in North Carolinia. I have a list of his family members. One son William Wilmoth b. 1799, Surry County, North Carolina. My wife descends from another son Stephen Wilmoth (Wilmuth). Some of the Ezekial line strayed back to Virginia. You might give that a try. Ron Wilson

    1. Re: [WILSON-L] PA/OH b.cir. 1717-1820's
    2. Michele, I've been trying to find a connection between the Wilson and Crosby surnames for a very long time. I've found only one remote possibility......Hugh W. Crosby married Sarah Wilson?? (just a guess that she was a Wilson), ca late 1860's, unknown where but maybe in AL. They were in Morgan Co, AL in 1870 and in Chattooga GA in 1880. I would be very interested in learning more about the Wilson/Crosby people you posted.... Anna b. 11/12/1796 married Thomas Crosby 11/7/1816 and Polly b. 3/8/1801 married ? Crosby. Do you have anything more on these people? Also, my great gfather, Abram or Abraham Wilson, (born ca 1850-1852 supposedly somewhere in GA) was in Morgan Co, AL in 1870. He is the earliest Wilson in my line that I can find. He married Sarah Jane NeSmith in Oct 1870 in Lawrence Co, AL. Would love to learn the names and locations for his parents and siblings. Abe disappeared in 1874 and was never heard from again. Some think he was killed or died while away from home, others think he just picked up and left for parts unknown. I would be very interested in the Abram you have posted......Abram b. 8/5/1789 d. 6/22/1815, married 4/7/1810 to Sary? Long 4 children. Do you have a location for this Abram and Sary Long? Names of their children; anything at all? Thanks, Paula Mk52766@aol.com wrote: > Hi List. > I am kind of excited because I have been on this list for 3 years and > nothing! My Wilson line goes back to a John Wilson, who married Jane ???, probably about 1790. According to family lore, his parents were Scotch-Irish who emigrated from near Belfast to York Co. about 1775, then moved to Washington Co., PA, about 1782. John and Jane moved to Perry Co., OH, about 1810. I can estimate John's birth at before 1775 from the 1820 census, but I've never been able to find anything about his parents.
