No not necessarily because I do not know anything really about them yet. I was/am hoping that someone will be able to make a connection to Matthew from another line...as is the son John Sr. is the only one right now that I have anything on..so I leave all possibilites open right now until I have evidence that says otherwise. Karol, I also found an Annanias B. Wilson that died in Illinois Dec. 27, 1862, residence was Morris, Ill. Another that died in Marion County, Oregon on June 28, 1963, spouse was Naoma. Carol
Karol, I did a search on the census and found the following. Hi Listers! I have some lost cousins and I would love to make contact with them. Their father Lymon F. WILSON was born 1912 in Tennessee (probably around Kingsport) and died of TB in 1943. He married Manerva LYNCH, birth ?, and she died ca 1945. All the kids were put into adoption system, probably in the Tennessee area, but could have been in Ohio. These are the Cousins I'm looking for. Betty WILSON is the oldest probably born around 1935. Phyllis WILSON Peggy Sue WILSON Phyllis and Peggy were twins I believe. Lymon Dale WILSON born 1941. I have made contact with Lymon but he does not know what happened to his sisters. He mentioned he name Vern KARMIC as a possible contact who might know where the Sisters are but I have not been able to locate Vern either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ron
Hello Every One!! I have had this "Brick Wall " for five years. I hope some one can help me, PLEASE, I have a Thomas J Wilson Married to a Sarah L. Dixon in Screven ,Georgia, March 15, 1859 ( LDS, Salt Lake) I believe them to be the parents of ; Preston, Clem, William, Emerson and my Grandfather, Edward Dawson Wilson. I can bring you up to-date from my Grandfather, if any of this rings a bell with you. I found that by 1880 that all of them were with different families. This makes me think that something happened in the family to break up the boys. Any Help would be greatly appreciated. Dorothy
I'm sorry, Norma, I don't have any of the names you mentioned. However, they could have been descendants of some ancestor whose line we have not traced. There were sure a lot of Wilson's in Ohio in the 1800s, and I've been unable to connect with any except the ones in my previous message. Actually it was a Wilson girl (Loretta) from Logan County Indiana who married a man named Gant from Mechanicsburg, Il. As far as I know, none of our Wilsons were in Mechanicsburg, but I don't know how Loretta and Daniel Gants met. Phyllis
Sandy, thank you very much for your response. I wonder if this could be my elusive James Wilson? The death date certainly fits, and the wife's name could be right as well, since we have some other Catherine's in the family. Do you have any other info on him? I wonder if death or burial records may be available for him or that cemetery? Thank you, Harold in Florida

The name looked familiar, and after some searching in my notes, I've run across a James Wilson, a Revolutionary War Vet who is buried in Timber Run Baptist Cemetery in Muskingum Ohio. Date of Death is listed as 1839. Wife by the name of Catherine b. 1763 d. 1866. I don't really have more information than that. This was information that someone in another line provided on Wilson, Boyer, and Fink surnames in Muskingum Co Cemeteries. No one that I've connected to is in this cemetery. Just a thought. Mechanicsburg, IL jumped out at me as I went thru your family list, Phyllis. It is such a small place in Sangamon Cty. My Wilsons lived in Mechanicsburg, IL during the 1940's, 50's and 60's. They were Walter Edgar & Emma (Cora Emmaline Eaton) Wilson. Family was: Donald, Paul, Ivan, Carl (my husband's father), Claude and Ruth. Any chance there could be a connection? I am jealous of all the information you do have as my progress is so slow. Norma Wilson, Golden, CO

Hi Listers! I am seeking a Wilson that was born in 1830 in OH.......don't know county or his parents' names. I believe his parents and/or grandparents came from VA. Name: ANANIAS WILSON. The family did go to Indiana, not sure of time-frame, but more than likely prior to 1850. Ananias died in the Civil War in 1862. Please.....everyone, keep your eyes open for this name!! Ananias and spouse, Jane Wooten (m 1850 in Indiana) had children named: James (1851), George (1855), Sylvester (1857), Julie (1859), and twins (1860) - Jane Netta and John. (all b in IN) (the last three children may have died young or at birth). George Wilson is my ggrandfather. He married Martha Smith (b in Eng) their children: b in IA William Henry (1879), Ananias (1882), Jocyrus (1884) Born in OR: James (1888), Albert (1892) & Clarence (1898). Thanks! Karol Wilson Gale
The Wilsons are driving me nuts, as it appears with everyone else. My John Wilson and wife Elizabeth Chinn m.1796 and were from Loudoun/Fauquier Co. Va. Son Rawleigh Chinn Wilson m. Callia T. Rice b. 1810 Thompson Co. KY. and they moved to Herald's Prairie, White Co. IL, his brother John Stretchley Wilson m. Harriet Blue and he died in Union Co. KY., sister Jane Elizabeth Wilson m. Philander Berry and she died in Union Co. KY., sister Lucy Jones Wilson m. Ferdinand Crebs and she died in White Co. IL....... 1st son Rawleigh's son William Berry Wilson m. Sarah Elizabeth Hays who was from Monroe Co. KY, both died in White Co. IL. I put all these names in because the Wilson name as well as the given names are all so common and with the amount of children born to each family can spread Wilsons all over the county. I hope anyone seeing the subject line with Wilsons in KY, IL, MO may recognize the spouse names. Good luck to ALL Wilson's. Arrrrggggggg. Hi.... I am not familiar with Hiram Lee Wilson or Reason Wilson. My Wilsons were from Ky. I found them in Vermilion County, Illinois, in 1870 close to the Indiana border. Isaiah Wilson married Emma Ritchardson / Richardson and they are in Mo. in 1880. Then they are in Scott County, Arkansas, in the 1890's. Where in Arkansas did your Wilsons move? Carol in Calif. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Malcolm & Dianna Wilson" <malcolmw@cox-internet.com> To: <WILSON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, June 09, 2003 8:50 PM Subject: RE: [WILSON-L] Reason Wilson > Any mention of a Hiram Lee Wilson b. Harold I have a James Wilson born to a Matthew & Mary Wilson after 1735 in either Bedford or Loudoun Counties. Matthew died in Bedford in 1771 and in his will he lists a James Wilson as one of his sons along with Thomas, Robert, Henry, John & Matthew, Martha, Elizabeth, Sarah, Margaret, Jane, & Mary. It is not known at this time what the ages were as the only line that has been traced or is known of is John's. Do you have a approximate birth date for James? I don't have a lot of facts to work with, but hopefully some of this info based on family stories will sound familiar to someone. My Wilson family info starts in the area of Bedford/Campbell County, Virginia. A James Wilson lived most of his life on a plantation in Virginia, served in the Revolutionary War (was severely wounded), and about 1798 started his trek to Ohio with several family members, including some of his siblings, his children, and their children. At least one of his sons John C. Wilson, was born in Campbell County, Virginia in 1796, based on his death record located in the Probate Court in Ross County, Ohio. It is believed that son Benjamin born about 1794, son William (no date), and possibly a daughter Mary (no date) were also born in Campbell County, but no proof. It is believed that son Stephen was born in Bedford County about 1784, but again, no proof. There was other children, but I have no info on their names, and I have no info on his wife's name. His trek to Ohio first goes to the area of Greenbrier County, VA, (now W.Va.), and then to Kentucky. I have no information where in Kentucky except Cane Ridge. I have no idea where it is located, and my uncle (93 years old), or my 88 year old aunt didn't remember either. She thinks it may be near Ashland, Ky. Part of the family stayed in Kentucky, and part of them (James Wilson and his sons John, Stephen, Benjamin, William) came on to Ohio, arriving in Chillicothe, Ross County, Ohio late December 1800. James and his sons settled in Buckskin Township, Ross County, where the four sons lived, raised their families, and died there. James supposedly died about 1837 at the home of another son who lived in Cincinnati, Ohio. I think there was five sons and three daughters that made it to Ohio. The other son is possibly Daniel or James (after his father). The daughters are unknown except for Mary. Hopefully someone will recognize this family (or some part of it) that will help me to find some information on the missing parts of this family. Most of this information was supplied by my 93 year old uncle, and my 88 year old aunt, so I can't vouch for the accuracy of the names or dates. I have asked them each several times about the family info, and each time I got pretty much the same info, so maybe it's accurate enough that someone may make a connection. Thank you very much, Harold McDonald Cantonment, Florida ==== WILSON Mailing List ==== List owner WILSON-admin@rootsweb.com
