I know what you mean, Harold. I don't even have a full name, name of parents or county for my Wilson or Willson. Looking for: Abraham/Abram Wilson/Willson, born ca 1851-52 in unknown county, GA. No names for parents or siblings, either. Abraham/Abram could be the first name or the middle name. First found on 1870 Morgan Co, AL census. Disappeared/died in Spring of 1874; family never heard from him again. Left one son, William Martin Wilson who moved to Navarro Co, TX ca late 1890's. Wm. Martin never talked about his father to his own family so we have no knowledge of our Wilson ancestors prior to 1870. They are believed to have been in NC/SC/or TN in addition to GA. I've posted this message a thousand times with no results. Guess I'll never know. Paula gosnell wrote: > Everyone could be in my shoes; > No one has ever heard tell of my > Wilson. > "James K. Harold, This is vacation and reunion time. I believe this 85 plus weather may have something to do with the lack of participating peoples also. Keep watching, someone else must be enjoying this wonderful air-conditioning too. Enjoy, we will soon be inundated with info., I hope! Keep searching, Bob Wilson
Everyone could be in my shoes; No one has ever heard tell of my Wilson. "James K. Wilson born 1848 in North Carolina, County unknown." Harold in Louisiana
Does anyone know if the rootsweb lists are down, or have I been unsubscribed. I am not receiving any mail from any of the lists. Harold in Florida

I have found my Benjamin Franklin Wilson (born 1863 in Cameron Illinois) and his wife Evaline (Garrison) Wilson (also born in Illinois in 1868). The died in Olin, Iowa and are buried there. I found Eva's obit and they listed the surviving children (as of 1947) -- they are Mrs. Joe Clay of Olin and Mrs. Farmer Oakes of Butler, MO and one son Lee Wilson of Lawn, Texas. There were grandchildren also. Does anyone know anything about their children or grandchildren? Thanks, Karen Wilson

This was sent to another list... Thought we could all benefit from a few laughs... SHIFTING STONES An older friend, recently returned from her hometown in North Carolina, says they've spruced up the churchyard cemetery since her last visit several years back. "Lots of new greenery," she said. "And families are together now." "Together?" I asked, puzzled. "Well, years ago they never much worried where they buried someone because everyone was a neighbor anyhow. They'd just dig a grave wherever it seemed to balance things. But, they've redone it so people are with their children and grandchildren, instead of scattered." "You mean they exhumed all those people and buried them?" "Oh no," she said. "They just shifted the headstones. Everyone agrees it looks ever so much nicer."
Hi Tracy, It appears as though my buyer is backing out of buying the book. The book will be available again if I don't hear from them by tomorrow noon. Are you still interested? The price is $38 plus shipping, which will probably be 3 or 4 dollars. Harold in Florida

I purchased a book from E-bay on the descendants of Henry Wilson of Dedham, Massachusetts. I bought the book hoping that it would connect to my Wilson family that I believe started in Worcester, Massachusetts, but I see no connection to my Wilson family at all. It starts with the admission of Henry Wilson to the church in Dedham in January 1640, and states that at the start of the Revolutionary War, descendants of Henry Wilson were firmly established in Franklin, Norfolk, and Worcester Counties in Massachusetts, York County, Maine, Cheshire County, New Hampshire, and Rutland County, Vermont. Twenty Five years later, descendants were also residing in Castine, Maine, Canton, Pennsylvania, and Middlebury, New York. Later, descendants were found in Santa Clara, California, and several locations in Iowa. It is a hard bound book in excellent condition, with a nice index by Wilson surname, and a separate index for spouses. If anyone has a connection to Henry Wilson or one of his descendants, and would be interested in buying this book, they can have it for what I paid e-bay. Harold McDonald Cantonment, Florida

Some where out there there is a WASHINGTON WILSON AND NANCY LUX, married December 27, 1818, Bullitt Co., Ky. I am looking for the WASHINGTON WILSON and NANCY LUX and the WILSON children. Does any one have any more information on these two folks. Thanks a bunch, Buster Jack Wilson
These people sound very smart, from personal experience you wouldn't believe what people are capable of with information as simple as this. If you use credit or debit cards and the long arm of the law would like to check up on you all they have to do is follow every transaction on those cards( the info is supplied to them by your banking institution, it is a permanent record). When my brother was murdered you wouldn't believe what pictures, credit card transaction lists, and other information was gathered with in hours. It was actually kind of scary rick ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sandy Barton" <sandbar@qn.net> To: <WILSON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, June 18, 2003 12:33 AM Subject: Re: Re: [WILSON-L] Genetic Testing > On 17 Jun 03, at 14:53, Colleen Wilson wrote: > > > Hard for some people to understand and/or accept modern technology. > > colleen > > That and some people just don't want any of their information "out > there".
