Anyone on the list have a Jennie/Jannie Wilson that fits this time frame? I don't have any parents or sibllings for her. Jennie/Jannie shows born Feb 1886 AL with Father born in GA and Mother in TN. Found her living in Dist 14, Marion Co TN in the home of a Mary Johnson. Mary Johnson is shown as age 65 (Oct 1834), a widow, born in GA with both parents born in GA. Jennie or Jannie is shown as a niece. Mary and Jennie/Jannie are living next door to John Woodall and Arminda? Woodall. Trying to connect my Wilson line to the Andrew J Woodall line. Andrew married Mary M Wilson; had 2 sons, John A & Abraham Woodall. Think that this John could be a son of Andrew J and Mary M Wilson Woodall. My William Wilson family lived in West Amunchee, Walker Co GA in 1850 and in DeKalb Co AL in 1860. They had a couple of Wilson sons born in GA; just wondering if there could be some kind of crazy connection here. Paula
I've "rescued" two old photographs belonging to the WILCOX Family or Oregon State. The first is a photograph of Ruby WILCOX which was taken at the Snyder's Studio in Lebanon, OR. The photograph appears to have been taken in the early 1900's with Ruby just an infant at the time the photograph was taken. The second photograph is one of Orlo & Bertha WILCOX and was taken at the Gardner Studio in Corvallis, OR. This second photograph was likely taken in the early 1900's as well with the couple appearing to be in their teens or 20's at the time. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding the family: Orlo K. WILCOX was b. 16 Jun 1881 in Corning, KS to parents Oliver Kent WILCOX (b. 6 Aug 1847 in MI) and Sarah Jane PURVIS (b. 13 Jan 1840 in Sullivan, IL). Orlo was one of four children born to this couple including, Francis Everett; Arthur Lemon; Oliver Wesley; and Orlo K. WILCOX all born in KS between 1875 and 1881 in Wyandotte, Reno and Nemaha Counties, KS. Orlo married Bertha Emily WILSON (b. 22 Oct 1886 in Washington, KS) on 16 Jun 1909 or 14 Jul 1909 in Linn County, OR and together they had 7 children including Helen Lucille; Donald W.; and Mary Faye WILCOX born between 1910 and 1916 in Oregon and Idaho. Orlo died 16 Jun 1970 in Granada Hills, CA and Bertha in Jan 1987 in Burbank, CA. Census records provide the following information: 1910 census of Corvallis, OR: Orlow K. WILCOX, age 28, newly married, born KS, parents born NY, a Cement Laborer Bertha E. WILCOX, wife, age 23, newly married, no children, born KS, parents born NY/KS Arthur J. WILSON, brother-in-law, age 21, born KS, parents born NY/KS 1920 census of North Lebanon, OR: H. G. WILSON, age 69, born NY, parents born NY Mary E. WILSON, wife, age 67, born KS, parents born ME/NH Ward WILSON, son, age 24, born KS, an Orchard Horticulturist Bertha WILCOX, dau, age 33, born KS Helen WILCOX, granddau, age 9, born OR, parents born KS Donald WILCOX, grandson, age 5, born ID, parents born KS Fay WILCOX, granddau, age 3 years + 9 months, born ID, parents born KS Margaret WILCOX, granddau, age 2 years + 10 months, born ID, parents born KS I am hoping to locate someone from this family so that the photographs can be returned to their care. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

Looking to find out more about Juan Philandes Wilson married Arrencie Mathews(Mathis). He was born about 1853 in Alabama. According To Ancestry.com he is in the 1870 Coffee Census, cannot prove it. also states he is in 1880 Barbour County Alabama Census(have not seen one yet) I know he is in 1900 Coffee and 1920 Geneva Alabama Census. Wondering if Zechariah Wilson in 1870 Coffee is an Uncle or cousin or something Thanks Mark Grace

My William Wilson ancestors were from somewhere in SC until about 1840 when they settled first in Walker Co GA>>DeKalb Co AL>>Morgan Co AL>>TX. My immediate family members settled here in central TX ca 1898 and has been greatly affected by heart attacks and strokes over the years. I am descended from the John Bois de Arc Wilson line, Hempstead Co. Ark. 1800s - also MO and earlier Green River KY 1810 - fa. probably Thomas........my genealogy has been copyrighted, ha, by someone else to whom I sent our family info.........Bill Clinton is descended from this line. The only possible hereditary condition that I can think of is kidney disease - both my father and cousin died quite young of it in the 1950s. Our Wilsons were dark haired and some of the men were extremely handsome with perfectly proportioned features..........one cousin was a recruiting poster boy for the US Navy during WWII. Also they seem to have natural musical ability and love to drink and dance. Have no idea if any of these traits are from the Wilsons or the Andersons, Fitzhughs, Randolphs, Dawsons, Dickersons, Woods (or other old southern families). I just saw this discussion about diseases in our Wilson families. My grandmother was a Wilson who grew up in Arkansas, the daughter of Cumberland Presbyterian minister Rev. James William Wilson and the granddaughter of Robert Alexander Wilson of College Grove, Williamson Co., TN and Obion Co., TN. We believe that they are part of the "Old Robin" and Eleanor Carothers Wilson line of Mecklenburg Co., NC. My grandmother had thyroid cancer, and, after the birth of our son, I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, the opposite of hypothyroidism. Evidently there is some thyroid weakness in our family, though it could possibly have come through through her mother's Alfords, Hollingsworths, Richardsons, Jennings, or many more I am not yet aware of. Earlier in life, my grandmother had tuberculosis, but was cured and lived to be 93. She had Parkinson's disease in her last years. I don't remember any other diseases in her family. Her oldest sister lived to be 98 and was said to have had remarkably good circulation up to her last illness. I'm able to go back to my 4 x's great grandfather one John Wilson b. 11-16-1793 d. 10-13-1844 in Manchester, Scott Co., Illinois but I don't have any paper documents to follow on him. I only have his name and dates because he signed his son Richard B. Wilson's letter of consent for marriage and from that I was able to locate his headstone in the Manchester Cemetery among other family members including my 3 x's great grandparents Richard B. Wilson and Keziah M. Tunnell. Richard is said to have been born somewhere in Kentucky. My mother and her older sister descended from Thomas Wilson of Fleming County KY and Putnam County IN, and both were diagnosed with under active thyroid in their early 20's. Took the daily pill for 60+ years...dosage needed to be monitored and adjusted occasionally...it was reduced, as I recall, as they got older.
