If not, then search for all forms of her name including spelling with a C. 1. WILSON family from NC, GA, AL and TX
    2. TROYCE HENDRICKS
    3. Hello list, I posted this a while back and got no response. Please read through to the end, my direct line that I'm looking for is there. I'm just starting on my WILSON line and would like to hear from anyone with any connections. Daniel WILSON born in North Carolina Mar. 9, 1792 died Feb. 24, 1879. no info. on his parents. Daniel married Rebecca ? born in North Carolina Nov. 25, 1800 died April 27, 1874 This family appears on the 1850 Georgia Census. Marion, Buena Vista 2: WILSON, Daniel aged 60, Male WILSON, Rebecca aged 50, Female WILSON, Daniel aged 13, Male WILSON, Jane aged 11, Female WILSON, Mary aged 9, Female 1860 Dale County, Alabama, same family as above: WILSON, Daniel aged 68 birthplace NC Male WILSON, Rebecca aged 59 birthplace NC Female WILSON, Daniel I. aged 23 birthplace GA Male WILSON, Mary E. aged 19 birthplace GA Female BROWN, Elizabeth aged 19 birthplace GA Female I don't know who this Elizabeth Brown is or how she is connected with the family. 1870 Dale County, Alabama WILSON, Daniel aged 78 male white Farmer birthplace NC WILSON, Rebecca aged 67 female white birthplace NC WILSON, (hard to read but looks like Cele) 26 female white birthplace GA Living just a couple of houses down is Daniel WILSON'S son John W. WILSON & family(this is my G.G.G. G.F.) WILSON, JOHN W. aged 43 male white farmer WILSON, Mary aged 37 female white WILSON, Daniel aged 18 male white farm laborer WILSON, Susan aged 16 female white WILSON, J.W. aged 11 male white WILSON, John aged 9 male white WILSON, Joseph aged 6 male white WILSON, Daniel aged 3 male white 1880 Dale County, Alabama, Barnes Cross Roads and Rocky Head WILSON, Mary white female 47 (listed as head of household, Mary's husband John W. WILSON had died) WILSON, James W. white male 21 son WILSON, John H. white male 19 son WILSON, Joseph white male 16 son WILSON, Oscar Lee white male 9 son WILSON, Lula white female 26 daughter in law WILSON, Nancy Ellen white female 4 granddaughter As you can see the names of Daniel, John, and Joseph were common in this WILSON line. Some of this family are buried at: Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church Cemetery Dale County, Alabama Here is the WILSON listings for this family in this cemetery: WILSON, Daniel P., b. Oct. 5, 1872, d. Oct. 18,? s/o D&P WILSON, Daniel b. July 24, 1851, d. Dec. 18, 1872 WILLSON, Daniel, b. in NC, Mar. 9, 1792, d. Feb. 24, 1879 WILLSON, David M. b. Nov 15, 1866, d. Aug. 12, 1883, w/o D WILLSON, Rebecca, b. in NC, Nov. 25, 1800, d. April 27, 1874 WILSON, Amanda Martela, b. Mar. 6, 1862, d. Sept. 12, 1908, w/o J.H. WILSON, John H., b. 1861, d.1939 WILSON, Rebecca Jane, b. 1861, d. 1935 Notice how the family changed the spelling from WILLSON to WILSON. On all census records they are shown as WILSON. My G. GM is the Nancy Ellen WILSON listed on the 1880 Census above. I believe her father to be Daniel I. WILSON but haven't proven this yet. Apparently Nancy's father had died by the 1880 census as she and her mother, Lula WILSON were living with Lula's mother in law Mary WILSON. Family story goes that Nancy Ellen's mother's maiden name was NORWEATHER and that she was an immigrant from Ireland, this hasn't been proven. The family was always told that Nancy Ellen WILSON was born in Montgomery, Alabama-this would explain why Daniel I. WILSON isn't buried at the Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church Cemetery in Dale County if he died near Montgomery he would have been buried there. After the fathers death Lula and Nancy Ellen moved back to Dale County and lived with Lula's mother in law, Mary. Nancy Ellen WILSON was born: Dec. 22, 1875 in Montgomery, Alabama to Lula WILSON and who I believe would be Daniel I. WILSON. Mary WILSON moved to the Mt. Pleasant Community in Shelby County, Texas in 1881. This is in East Texas. Most of her family moved with her but a few stayed in Alabama. Mary WILSON and her family are buried at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Shelby County, Texas. This used to be a Methodist church but is now a Church of Christ. This WILSON line is predominantly Methodist. Here is the Mt. Pleasant cemtery listing: Alonzo Wilson 11-14-1921 04-28-1999 Sgt., U.S. Army - Husb of Doris Marie Williams Amanda E. Wilson 04-16-1849 06-21-1890 Wife of James W. Wilson I've discovered that a WARR family was living next to the WILSON'S in Alabama and there are several WARR'S buried in this cemetery so I feel that the WILSON'S and WARR'S moved to East Texas from Alabama together in 1881. I'm looking forward to hearing from anyone with information on these families. Thank you, Troyce Hendricks

    3. I am looking for a record of my grand mother, Katherine/Katie Wilson/Gammon/Bloom. I don't know where she was born or who her parents were. She was born about 1866, according to her death records. She claimed her parents were from Ireland. What little information I have, she married a George Gammon, a much older man, and an immigrant from England. He died sometime between 1891 and 1894. They lived in Brooklyn. Anyone missing a Katherine Wilson. Please reply. Vince

    3. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I find my grandfather Henry WILSON's birth? I have him born 1879. The 1901 census says he was born in Eastbourne but I can't find him there. I have no other information on him other than his death in Fulham in 1931 Pauline USA -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, November 22, 2004 1:55 PM To: [email protected] Subject: WILSON-D Digest V04 #254 --- Incoming mail is certified Virus Free. 3. As a descendant of Willson/Wilson families of Augusta cty. Va. and of Washington Cty, Sevier, Jefferson, Knox counties Tenn. I am trying to prove that Joseph Willson of Augusta and Washington County, NC/Tenn is my ancestor. This is for DAR. They are very strict with proofs. I do not have anough info yet to tie Joseph in with my early family. I am not sure of his father either. However my g.grandfather-Isaac Anderson Loag Willson married into the Rankin family. We have traced our Rankins back to Margaret Campbell b. 1735 and her father James. Margaret married Samuel Steele and they had Jennett Janet Steele who married our Richard Rankin- they had my g.g. grandfather Richard Duffield Rankin--his daughter Angeline Rankin md. IAL Willson (above). We have traced the Campbell back to the Campbells of Breadalbane in Scotland. We are pretty sure that we can trace that line to Robert Bruce and to the royal Campbell line and thence to the Stewarts. Those lines will take you back to the Vikings. So thru the Rankin line yes we think that there were Vikings. Thru the Willsons is unknown--Joseph's father was supposedly Charles but can't find ANY proof that he is or he isn't J.'s father. 2. I have no idea who the Wilsons in Augusta Co., VA were that supposedly had Viking lineage. I have just heard that they were in Augusta and Washington Countys in the mid to late 1700s. My line in that area was John d. abt 1817and wife Jean/Jane Wilson d. abt 1819. Their son James b. abt.1770 d. 1844 Washington Co. They may have had a daughter Jenny. James married Phoebe Dryden daughter of Nathaneil and Mary Dryden. James and Phoebe's children were James, John, Joel, Leander, Eleanor, Mary, Margaret, and Nancy. I think there may be a connection between the two Wilson lines or maybe it is the same line. My grandfather John Leander Wilson, son of Joel was born in Washington Co., VA 1843. Darrell Holt
